First, I have to say I give these guys credit for being one of a few McDonald’s and still have the playroom that does not mean it’s not without some constructive criticism in this review.
Visiting the McDonald's with its iconic play place brought back a rush of nostalgia from my childhood days in the '80s. Eager to share a slice of my past with my child. I anticipated a fun-filled quick visit, at one of the few remaining McDonald's that still features a playroom. However, the experience was a mix of nostalgia and disappointment.
Upon entering the restaurant, the bustling atmosphere was immediately noticeable. The place was incredibly busy, echoing the typical McDonald’s vibe of being a hub of activity. Despite the introduction of automatic kiosks which seemed to streamline the ordering process—a welcome addition—I opted to use these, joining the majority who preferred this modern touch over the traditional counter service. The staff handling orders was efficient, but the crowd did not seem to diminish.
Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the restaurant did not match the efficiency of the service. The floor was littered with wrappers and discarded food, and the general upkeep seemed neglected amidst the chaos. This disregard for cleanliness extended dramatically into the play area, which was the main attraction for our visit.
The playroom was, frankly, a letdown. The first assault was the unpleasant smell that hinted at a lack of regular cleaning, with an unsettling odor that suggested urine. The sight of barefoot children running amok, some even venturing as far as the restroom without shoes, was concerning. Although this issue might be more reflective of poor parental supervision, it contributed to the unhygienic conditions of the space.
Observing the play area further, it was clear that the structure and safety protocols were lax. Children climbed on structures not meant for climbing with little to no supervision, contributing to a chaotic and potentially unsafe environment. While the kids seemed to enjoy playing together, the lack of cleanliness and supervision couldn't be overlooked. The play place was not only visually unappealing but felt neglected and unsanitary.
Despite these issues, the playroom was a hive of activity with children laughing and playing. It served its purpose of bringing joy to its young visitors, but at the cost of comfort and hygiene. It’s commendable that the restaurant manages to attract large crowds, but it desperately needs dedicated staff to maintain cleanliness, especially during peak times. Regular cleaning of the tables, timely garbage removal, and vigilant supervision in the play area would go a long way in enhancing the overall customer experience.
In conclusion, while the McDonald's play place holds potential as a fun and nostalgic spot for families, the management needs to enforce stricter hygiene and safety measures. Enhancing the cleanliness and supervision would ensure that the nostalgia is not overshadowed by neglect. Hopefully, improvements can be made so that future visits can be enjoyable without...
Read moreMy initial interaction with the team members were pretty pleasant. However when providing feedback about my experience to the manager, she came across as pretty cold, guarded, and initially didn’t appear open towards my feedback.
I had asked for light mayo and mustard on my sandwich however I had to return as my sandwich was not made to my order.
When I returned to the window one of the team members immediately took ownership of the mistake and offered to remedy the solution. I would like to commend the young lady for her leadership and level of responsibility for recognizing that working at McDonalds is a team effort and we can all support each other even if you are not directly at fault. Job well done!
However at the pick up window I could see the manger appeared somewhat frustrated about the ordeal while my order was being remade. I then asked the team member at the window if I could have a brief word with her to provide her with some feedback about my experience.
As she approach the pick up window I was not greeted with a smile or any pleasantries such as ´how can I help you’. Instead I was met with a forced and rather abrupt ´hello’. I said hello and asked for her name. She replied I’m the manager, I reply and shared my full name and asked her yet again for her name of which she then reluctantly said her name.
I shared with her my experience at the drive-thru and offered feedback to let her know that I appreciate her and her team supporting us all as an essential service, however it is still important for your team to pay attention to detail even though it is fast food service. As paying attention to detail impacts the customers experience. She replied yeah I know that’s why I stood right over my guy to make sure he made the sandwich right this time.
I thanked the manager for allowing me to share my feedback with her and thought I would also share my feedback with the team in hopes that this could also be a teachable moment for your team.
P.s - don’t forget to smile! I remember a slogan ‘if we forget to smile, the meal is free’. Not that I need a free meal, but when greeted with a smile, you would be very surprised to know how powerful that genuine...
Read moreI came to this location to get a happy meal cheeseburger with nothing but ketchup on it. When I received my burger I didn’t look until I got home and noticed everything was on it. I proceeded to call what I thought was the location I was just at but ended up being the wrong one. I went back to the drive through i purchased the burger from nevertheless and politely explained to them the situation and asked for a new happy meal. The manager then got caught up in the fact I didn’t call his exact store and started straight up calling me a liar to my face. When I explained that I was sorry for calling the wrong number but just wanted a new burger and showed them my receipt and order number but I was then yelled at and laughed at my the MANAGER and another employee. I told them the number I called shouldn’t matter if I have all the proof it was from this store. But I was then told it was my issue once they handed me my burger it wasn’t their problem. When my boyfriend called later to complain, the manager physically threatened him. ALL BECAUSE I JUST WANTED MY BURGER REMADE. This was the worst experience I’ve ever had in my whole life he was belittling me, making me feel small and laughing at me with his coworkers when I provided everything necessary (receipt, order number and the literal cheeseburger). I left like a joke there. He lifted his finger in my face and told me I was a liar for some reason and kept on belittling me until they handed me a burger. My boyfriend and I are now just taking off back as we go to this location often, and calling them after as I said did no help as he just threatened us further just physically this time. I know Ryan is the owner and Ryan do you really want these people running your store? To the point where customers feel unsafe asking your employees about a mistake THEY made? This is scary and unethical and unacceptable. Ryan please contact me if you...
