Terrible Experience – Disrespectful & Possibly Racist Service from Rawan

We visited Melt n Dip Burlington on March 7, 2025, at 10:28 PM and had the worst experience we’ve ever had at a dessert place. We have been regular customers, always enjoyed our visits, and even recommended this place to others. But after this experience, I can confidently say we will never be returning.

We ordered a Pistachio Crepe and an Eclair Pyramid (Receipt #NZGYRPG82QTB4 – attached). When the Pistachio Crepe arrived, it was burnt, way too thick, and extremely tough to chew. It was impossible to enjoy, so we politely asked for a replacement.

Instead of handling the situation professionally, Rawan, one of the staff members, was immediately rude and dismissive as if we were bothering her. Is this how you treat paying customers?

She reluctantly replaced the crepe, but when we opened the new box, we were shocked—the replacement was significantly smaller, almost as if we were being punished for speaking up. Have you ever seen a crepe this tiny? It felt like she was mocking us rather than fixing the issue. And if that wasn’t bad enough, she threw the box on the table without making eye contact and walked away without saying a single word.

Honestly, this felt personal. The way she treated us was beyond unprofessional—it was downright disrespectful and possibly even racist. She had no problem being kind and attentive to other customers, but when it came to us, it was as if we didn’t deserve basic courtesy. We were paying customers like everyone else, so why were we treated so differently?

We didn’t want to create a scene, especially since it was my friend’s birthday, but this was beyond unacceptable. We drove over an hour from Niagara Falls just to have a fun night out, and instead, we left feeling humiliated.

I understand that employees may have bad days, but there is no excuse for treating customers this way. We are always polite, always tip generously wherever we go, but this time, I regretted even spending a dollar here.

The only good part of this visit was Heba, the cashier. She was sweet, polite, and professional—something Rawan clearly lacks.

Melt n Dip Burlington, you need to seriously train your staff on how to treat customers. If this is the level of service you provide, you don’t deserve loyal customers like us. The way we were treated was not just bad customer service, it was insulting.

My girlfriend and I went in here Friday night and thought we were on a different planet due to how amazing the service was. Both the young lady working and the young man went above and beyond constantly to ensure we had exactly what we needed.

It's been a long time, if ever, since I was treated this well by staff and my girlfriend and I agreed i had to leave a review.

I'm not kidding when I say we kept looking at each other in disbelief with how well we were being treated.

What really put this visit over the top for us was at the end. We had asked for a receipt and the machine was broken/new paper was needed to be installed. After both the lady and man worked on it for 5 minutes and couldn't figure it out I appreciated their effort and told them it was fine it wasn't a big deal.

I then walked to my car and went to drive away when the male came running out of the store after me to give me the receipt since they had finally just fixed the machine.

I've been here before and the food is top notch but after this unbelievable service I knew I had to spread the word and tell everyone about it.

To the owner, please pass along my gratitude to your workers. Most teenagers don't give a shi, but these kids were phenomal and...

Went to get a sweet treat and was sort of disappointed. It used to be dip n’ dip but now it’s melt n’ dip. They don’t have pancakes which we were excited for. The fruits was 20$, the waffle was 20$, the croffles were 20$, and the gelato was $5. The fruits were not worth the price, the pineapples were underripe, and it was not that good. The waffles and croffles were fine, but it was too sweet, definitely needed fruits. The gelato was good though. I got my waffle and it didn’t come with gelato, so I told the worker and said it was supposed to come with it because the QR code we scanned in the establishment brought us to the online menu and it said the lotus waffle came with lotus gelato. She asked and said it didn’t, so I said it does and showed her the menu. Then after 5 minutes it finally came. Most of us didn’t finish our food because the white chocolate gave the food an off taste. If you’re coming here just get gelato, it was the only thing that actually was really...

Melt n Dip is an absolute delight for dessert enthusiasts like myself! From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted by the aroma of freshly baked waffles and the sight of decadent ice cream creations. The Belgian Waffle at Melt n Dip is a true masterpiece. Crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and topped with a generous serving of my favorite ice cream, it was a taste sensation like no other. Every bite was a symphony of flavours and textures that left me craving more. And speaking of ice cream, Melt n Dip offers a variety of flavours that cater to every palate. Whether you're a fan of classic vanilla or adventurous enough to try their unique specialty flavours, you're in for a treat. Each scoop is creamy, rich. If you're looking for the perfect spot to satisfy your dessert cravings, look no further than Melt n Dip. Trust me, once you've experienced their Belgian Waffle and ice cream, you'll be hooked! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
