For a relatively new place it seems the management of this place doesn't understand the concept of good hospitality. We tried to call to book reservations for 8 people literally dozens of times over the course of a couple of days and nobody answered the phones nor do they have voicemail or online booking. We finally emailed and received a response so we could book a table for 8 people. Sadly when we showed up, they didn't have a table prepared for us and our elderly father, who has challenges with mobility, was moved from table to table until we finally got settled. What's worse is that we then had to move our own menus to the new table, crawl under one table to level it off, and when we complained to management they didn't even have the common courtesy to apologize. Instead they only seemed to be concerned about WHEN we made the reservations as if to suggest that WE were somehow to blame for their lack of preparedness. And, on top of that, the food was totally substandard Thank goodness we had a lovely waitress named Emma who made up for most the frustration but suffice to say, this new restaurant has already lost a number of potential customers, as we've all decided we would NEVER go back and will be sure to warn others to avoid it. A new restaurant should have better management and should be better equipped to offer hospitality to its patrons. I highly doubt this place will survive if it doesn't make some serious changes with how they operate. This experience was beyond disappointing for us, and we dont suggest anyone go there when there are so many superior establishments in...
Read moreI really hate to leave a negative review on a new business but after our meal here this past Friday we were incredibly disappointed and won’t be returning. We wanted to try something new other than our usual spots and we left wishing we just stuck with what we knew. For starters, this place is expensive. I know everywhere is relatively expensive right now but compared to similar restaurants nearby (Beertown, Industrial, etc) the food prices were just absurd. Our bill was $120 for a beer, a pop, 2 appetizers, and an entree… and the tip STARTS at 20% on the machine.
The service was fine. Like other reviews it started out strong but as time went on it felt like they just either forgot we were there or didn’t care. We also ate on the patio and at its busiest there were maybe 2-3 other tables max
The food was unfortunately disappointing. The spinach dip was the highlight of this meal and was actually pretty good. The boneless wings were incredibly dry and had almost zero garlic parm seasoning on them. My partner said his fish and chips were also bland and overcooked. Our food also took almost 45 minutes to get to us, again with almost no one in the restaurant.
Overall, not worth the absurd amount of money we spent on our evening out which is a treat for us. When the massive bill came I just felt disappointed and upset that we didn’t go to our usual place and were spending our money on food we could’ve made better at home. $120 for basic pub fare is insane, I know it costs a lot to run these places but if I’m paying that much for food it needs to be good. We...
Read moreCame here with friends for the first time, choosing Social 99 based on the high reviews. Unfortunately, our experience did not live up to expectations.
No gluten-free options. We ordered entrees: chicken pasta, chicken with salad, and chicken with veggies and mashed potatoes. Portions were very small—one chicken breast was cut into three and divided across two plates. When requesting fries instead of mashed potatoes, we were told it would take up to 25 minutes.
The chicken entrée sauce tasted more like mushroom soup, and salty, the vegetables amounted to barely a spoonful, and they were thin, overcooked with blackened edges, and the mashed potatoes were salty and seemed like ready-made type. The salad was mostly iceberg lettuce with thinly sliced chicken, and not filling at all. The calamari was thin, overly flaky, and disappointing. The pasta had thinly sliced chicken breast, and small portion overall. The fries were inconsistent: two plates came out differently—one undercooked—and the shoestring style fries were not appealing.
The only redeeming factor was the venue and music, which made the atmosphere enjoyable, but the food quality and portions did not reflect the high reviews. Friendly service, but directing guests to table seemed disorganized as the server didn't know the name the reservation was under with two...
