2025CAFE — Restaurant in Burnaby

Much needed review for this spot, we went and had the clasic steamed rice roll - Bánh Cuốn Tôm & Bánh Cuốn Tôm + Pork. And I also had the Water Fern Cake - Bánh Bèo Nhân Tôm.

The fish sauce for dipping was light and refreshing. Probably the most balances fish sauce I ever had in a vietnamese restaurant here.

For the steamed rice texture, it was flexible, soft, not powdery at all (a common detractor from the rice rolls experiences in both Chinese & Vietnamese restaurants in Canada). The meat and fillings were well prepped, not dry, savoury, juicy.

The portion was perfect for its size and value as well.

However, small place and limited seatings with good lighting. I'd recommend going there at opening to get seats. Otherwise you gonna be waiting...

It’s so delicious, fresh and authentic! It’s hard to find authentic steamed Vietnamese rice rolls in this city and I’m so happy 2025Cafe has opened!

Each order comes with 4 rice rolls. I tried 1 order: prawn and 1 order: pork. Both were great! (The menu doesn’t list pork or chicken but the employee verbally said they have the following 4 options to choose from: prawn, beef, chicken or pork.) Its generously topped with in house fried shallots and comes w a Vietnamese ham (refer to pic) bag of veggies (bean sprouts, lettuce, basil and cilantro.) sauce options too choose from are: soya sauce, fish sauce or a in-house sauce (taste like a sweet onion beef broth.)

Stream rice roll is exactly what i was looking for. But Fried onions are too burnt and oily. I have no idea why you choose cuttlefish as topping instead of meat ball? I really love Bánh Cuốn and yours is closest what I expected. I hope you can improve and stay as long as possible. Although your food is delicious, your service is very bad and unprofessional. The staff didn't even care when we walked in. I understand you are small and new restaurant. But at least learn how to say hi and arrange seats for your customer. Besides, it took 40 mins to serve foods while there were only 4 tables including us at that time.

I will come back to try more. I hope to see some...
