If you are looking for a charming little Parisian cafe in Burnaby, then you should definitely check out this hidden gem. The moment you step inside, you will feel like you have been transported to Paris. The cozy atmosphere, the warm lighting, and the Eiffel Tower picture on the wall create the perfect ambiance for a quick getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city.
The menu at this cafe is focused on one thing - crepes! You can choose from a variety of savory and sweet crepes that are all equally delicious. Whether you are in the mood for something savory like the classic ham and cheese crepe, or something sweet like the Nutella and banana crepe, you will not be disappointed.
The crepes are made fresh to order and are served hot and crispy. The portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable, making it a great spot for a quick lunch or a snack. The owner adds to the overall experience, and you can tell that he take pride in his work.
On my first visit, I tried the Nutella, banana and strawberry crepe, and it was amazing. The combination of the warm crepe, the gooey Nutella, and the fresh strawberries and banana were a perfect treat. I cannot wait to go back and try some of the other flavors on the menu.
If you are a fan of French cuisine or just looking for a cozy spot to enjoy some delicious crepes, then this cafe is a must-visit. It is the perfect spot to catch up with a friend, read a book, or just sit back and enjoy the ambiance. I highly recommend this little Parisian cafe, and I cannot wait to go back for another taste of...
Read moreVisited here for breakfast. Okay food, terrible service. Asking for warm water: Coffee machine was broken, so no coffee at all (which is fine, it happens). I asked for warm water instead was first pointed to a self water serve station which has cold water. I then asked for a cup of warm water the second time - owner gets water from sink faucet into the cup but still gives me cold water. I had to bring the cup back again the second time saying that the water is not warm, at which point I was finally able to get a warm cup of water. It doesn't cost anything to turn the faucet properly to warm water and check the temp before serving. How hard should it be for a customer to get a warm cup of water?
Missed Order: When I was told that the coffee machine was broken, I ordered a milkshake with my partner ordering another milkshake. The owner only made one milkshake for my partner, but not the one I ordered. We realized after that we were only charged for one milkshake and my milkshake order was completely missed. He could have made one more sale but missed out due to missing the order.
The crepe dishes we ordered was without a major fault, but not extra ordinarily...
Read moreThe food was fine. The service was fine. The atmosphere was fine. No complaints, but the problem is the value. It just isn't there. I get that prices are up everywhere, but there still has to be value to the customer. This is just too expensive for what you get.
Mostly though, is the bizarre formulaic approach to pricing. I mean, you're there for the crepes, right? Well they're only $3.50 which is a bargain. The crepe is what makes this place special. BUT, you can't have a plain crepe... that's just wrong. Want to add $0.02 worth of cinnamon? Another $3.50. $0.03 worth of lemon juice? $3.50. These extremely basic toppings should be free, if you're going to break it down to a per-topping basis. I suggest charging considerably more for the crepe and be reasonably on the toppings, because $3.50 for a dusting of cinnamon is not reasonable and neither is $16 for the crepe I had. It was good, but it wasn't blow-my-mind good, and it needs to be when it is a full 33% more expensive than excellent crepes you can get downtown which are also larger.
This place has fantastic reviews. These new menu prices though... I...
