I placed 3 separate orders (to feed 10 people) on UberEats because I had promo codes with a scheduled time of 5:15-5:45pm for delivery. All of my orders got cancelled and I received a voicemail asking me to call back so they could explain why. I called back and the person who picked up said she wasn't aware of the situation so she passed me onto someone else. The person who got on the phone sounded older with an accent. She was very aggressive and told me they don't accept scheduled orders for that time because they are too busy and that I could order right now, which was 3pm. I told her I would be ordering through UberEats and asked what time I can schedule the order then, like maybe even 4:30pm and she said no. Then she said I can only order RIGHT NOW or have 20 minutes to place the order. I said half under my breath "that's ridiculous" and she got even more aggressive and went off on me saying "excuse me? excuse me? why are you saying that's ridiculous?" to which I replied that I wanted to get the food closer to dinner time since I'm feeding a group of people and didn't want the food to be cold. She kept repeating herself about being too busy and won't accept scheduled orders (then don't be on delivery apps!) so I tried getting off the phone because I wasn't trying to argue and didn't want her to spit in my food if I continued to place an order, but she tried to keep me ON the phone to continue yelling at me by saying "no, let me explain so you understand." I was appalled that I literally just got yelled at by this woman and stressed that I would now have to find another restaurant last min to order from, but after about 5 mins I called back and asked for the woman's name because I was so upset from the way she spoke to me. The person who I spoke to the second time did apologize, but she said she couldn't figure out who spoke to me the first time. After telling my friends about my experience, one of them said they know who I'm talking about because she ordered catering from here for her work event and the person she had to deal with was very rude to her as well. It sounds like they don't like all the business they're getting so let's help them out and give them less.
I ended up ordering from Stepho's Souvlaki Greek Taverna and they were CHEAPER, with MORE FOOD, with the same delivery fee, it was DELICIOUS, and I didn't have anyone yell at me! I think My Greek in Coquitlam is the best, but unfortunately, they're not on UberEats.
Argo, please check your staff who are so rude to customers because that was RIDICULOUS.
*REPLY to the owner: The point of my negative review was not that your restaurant was too busy to accept my order, it was that the person I spoke to was VERY RUDE to me and, just like you, very unapologetic about the situation. Her tone of voice was like she was more upset than I was. Being aggressive like that towards your customers isn't right, and for you to say that I wasn't being understanding - I actually was understanding, but I didn't appreciate getting yelled at! Seems like it's so difficult for you all to just be apologetic without...
Read morewe ordered food from here through uber eats and I had called the restaurant following our order to upgrade one of the meals which I paid an extra $10 for.
We waited over an hour for our food to arrive and all that was delivered was the appetizers. I immediately called the uber driver who said he was only given the bag he delivered and nothing else. So, I called the restaurant but they were already closed and I left a message.
The next day I got a call from the owner who was not apologetic at all. She blamed uber saying that there is a frequent chain of events where uber drivers are giving the wrong bags to other customers or possibly keeping the food to themselves. My question is, if this is such an issue, why are you still using uber at your restaurant? I’ve never had this issue with any uber delivery I’ve made. The owner wouldn’t even acknowledge that it was a possibility her staff didn’t give the driver the correct bags. She also had no appreciation for the fact that we didn’t have a meal that night. She offered to provide us with the missed meals which she had to make clear, it was at the restaurants expense. Again, no sympathy for the fact that I spent 40 minutes driving to pick up the food which was my time and gas money spent on their mistake.
When I picked up the food, there were bags with the salads / appetizers at the front and the meals were kept in the back with the kitchen. Seemed like a coincidence that that was the bag the uber driver apparently stole or gave to another customer. This made it clear to me that it was the restaurants mistake.
I opened up the bag of food in front of her to confirm that the order was correct and she said ‘uber refunded you didnt they?’ implying that she didnt have to fix the mistake they made. meanwhile i was never refunded the additional $10 i paid to the restaurant that night.
the food wasn’t great and I won’t be coming back here. I would have at least appreciated an apology for what happened but instead I was treated poorly for a mistake I didn’t make and it felt like she was trying to make me feel bad for the ‘favour’ they did by giving us the meals we ordered at no additional cost. If you’re going to give a favour, don’t be rude about it.
terrible customer service....
Read moreI had the pleasure of trying out Argo Greek Cuisine Pizza & Pasta based on my barber's recommendation, and I must say, it exceeded all expectations. From the seamless takeout ordering process to the exceptional customer service, every aspect was top-notch. The staff patiently assisted us in selecting dishes suitable for our group size, ensuring we got the best value for our money.
As for the food, it was nothing short of phenomenal. We indulged in a variety of dishes, including chicken, beef, and lamb souvlaki, along with appetizers like spanakopita and calamari. Each item was expertly prepared and bursting with flavor. Despite being takeout, every dish arrived perfectly cooked and beautifully presented.
The souvlaki dinner, in particular, was a standout. Generous portions of meat, rice, potatoes, pita, Greek salad, and delectable homemade tzatziki sauce left everyone satisfied, with enough leftovers for lunch the next day. The servings were so ample that sharing a single dinner order among multiple people was entirely feasible.
I'm already eagerly anticipating my next order to explore more of their menu offerings, and I can't wait to dine in at the restaurant itself. Plus, the ease of parking further enhanced the overall experience. If you're craving authentic souvlaki takeout, Argo Greek Cuisine Pizza & Pasta is the place to go—trust me, you won't be disappointed!
This review focuses on their dinner menu options, but it's worth noting that they also offer lunch specials if you're looking to save...
