I (used to) go here at least twice a week after work and pick up a couple of slices of pizza before my trip back to Maple Ridge.
Depending on who is working the counter, I've been charged about five different prices for the same two slices of pizza over the course of months. But I let it slide, I don't argue, because honestly? The pizza is good.
Sometimes they'll have the TV up so loud I can barely think, and sometimes it's not even in English. But whatever, because the pizza is good.
The seating is set up in such a way that half of the tables aren't even usable, but hey: the pizza is good!
And then two days ago, I go in for my usual two slices, and some kid is working the register. He tells me I can't get my two slices ($2.50 apparently, which is not always the price I'm charged, but whatever) which I -always- pay for with VISA because the min. charge for a transaction is $3
I explain to the kid that I'm in here several times a month and order the same thing, with the SAME card, every single time. He doesn't care, because I'm assuming mommy or daddy gave him instructions and he doesn't want to deviate from them. I ask him if I can speak to someone else, and he tells me no one else is there. So basically they left a kid who looks like he's not even legally old enough to work in charge of the whole place.
I ask him if the policy just magically came into effect "today" (two days ago) and he says no, it's always been the policy. Which is a bold-faced lie since again, months upon months of paying for these same two slices of pizza with a credit card, right here.
Well this is 2014 and I don't carry cash. I'm not going to be forced into buying something extra that I don't need just so I can pay with the same method of payment half the rest of the civilized world is using.
The pizza is good, it's true. But I probably won't go back just because it was embarrassing to have to argue with a kid a fraction of my age. There's another pizza place just across the street that sells by-the-slice where I assume I can pay with a...
Read moreI've gotten the same takeout special from this restaurant multiple times always calling in before hand to place an order so I can just arrive, pay, and pickup the order. However, today I've had such a terrible experience I decided to take 30 minutes out of my day to write my first ever restaurant review.
This instance was the only time I've interacted with any of the staff for more than 30 seconds. I called and ordered my usual Pickup Special, which was a protein dish (butter chicken included) with naan bread & rice, I asked for butter chicken. Upon arriving I specifically told the man I ordered a Pickup Special through the phone earlier he questioned, "Butter chicken?" I said yes. When my order was ready I payed by credit (tipped my usual 10%) said thanks and started to leave but I noticed the bag was a little lighter than usual. I opened it and realized that it was only butter chicken, which made sense because the bill was lower than usual, not a problem at all. I politely said, "Excuse me, I ordered Pickup Special; I just got butter chicken." He then pointed his finger at me, and aggressively, Aggressively exclaimed, "You ordered butter chicken! I asked you butter chicken you said yes!" No manure man. I then tried to explain that I meant butter chicken Pickup Special. His response was that I already paid for butter chicken. I'm shocked at this point and I rhetorically ask "So... No Pickup Special?" Surprisingly, he said that he can add the naan bread and rice and just charge the difference. Awesome, this is exactly what I wanted, I agreed. HOWEVER, he then grabbed the bag with the butter chicken that I already paid for, all the while, giving me the most spiteful look I've ever seen in years, and took it back with him into the kitchen. When the naan bread and rice was added to the order an older lady came to hand it to me. I've lost my appetite after this encounter and will not be coming back despite its...
Read moreAfter being a loyal customer for almost an year, we have decided not to order from here again. Last weekend like usual we made an order of 2 veg medium size pizzas. When we reached, we were told that we had ordered 2 large pizzas which we never do. The lady at the counter didn’t show any customer first skills and started saying that you must have made a mistake, I have doing this for ages and I never make mistakes. We thought its okay its just a matter extra $5-6. When we reached home, we realised that one of the pizzas was non-veg. When we called them, the same lady picked the phone and started accusing us of not making the order clearly and not checking the pizza before leaving. This is the kind of attitude and service you offer to your loyal customers? The lady, not even once apologised or said we will make you a new pizza. Ultimately we had to throw one of the pizzas. Even we always did a takeout here, we always tipped them 15-20% considering its a local business but no more. You lost a great customer because of this incident. For others- Please be very clear with your orders and double check...
