My family and I recently dined at Birdies Eat and Drink, and we had a delightful experience overall. The restaurant has a cozy and inviting ambiance, making it a great spot for a casual family meal. Let me share our thoughts on some of the dishes we tried:
The Marg Pizza: The Marg pizza was an instant hit with our little ones! It was perfectly sized for their appetites, and the combination of flavours was spot on. The crust was thin and crispy, and the kids couldn't get enough of the gooey cheese and tangy tomato sauce. It's a fantastic option for families dining with young ones.
Rigatoni Arrabbiata: The Rigatoni Arrabbiata was a spicy pasta lover's dream come true. The pasta was cooked to perfection, and the arrabbiata sauce had the right balance of heat and rich flavours. The addition of fresh herbs and grated parmesan on top elevated the dish even further. It's a must-try for those who enjoy a kick of spice in their Italian dishes.
Birdies Burger: The Birdies Burger was a true classic, and it did not disappoint! Juicy, tender, and full of flavour, this burger was everything we wanted. The combination of the perfectly seasoned patty, melted cheese, and fresh toppings made each bite incredibly satisfying. It's a hearty choice for any burger enthusiast.
Oh So Sticky Korean Ribs: While the first order of Oh So Sticky Korean Ribs arrived cold, the staff quickly addressed the issue and brought us another plate of piping hot ribs. And boy, were they worth the wait! The ribs were incredibly tender and coated in a finger-licking, sweet and savoury glaze that had a delightful hint of spiciness. It's evident that Birdies takes great care in crafting this mouthwatering dish.
Crispy Chicken Lettuce Wraps: The Crispy Chicken Lettuce Wraps were a refreshing and light option amidst all the flavours we tried. The chicken had the right amount of crunch, and the accompanying lettuce and veggies added a lovely freshness to each bite. The tangy dipping sauce provided a perfect finishing touch. It's an ideal choice for those looking for something on the lighter side.
I almost forgot to mention the fries at Birdies are none other than the famous Earls fries. If you've ever had the pleasure of enjoying Earls fries and loved them, you are in for a treat at Birdies. These fries are just as fantastic, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and perfectly seasoned. They complemented our main dishes splendidly and added an extra layer of deliciousness to the overall dining experience.
Overall, Birdies Eat and Drink left a positive impression on us. The menu offers a diverse range of delicious dishes to suit various palates. The restaurant staff was attentive, friendly, and prompt in addressing any issues we encountered. We had a delightful lunch and left with happy hearts and satisfied appetites. We'll definitely be...

It was incredibly noisy inside this restaurant. There was definitely a lot of energy in the air. A good place to come to if boisterous crowds of people is what you enjoy. Personally, I didn't find this place to be at all relaxing. I felt more relaxed once we left the restaurant and went to a quieter place where I could clearly hear what people were saying to me.
The Calamari was tasty although we weren't too crazy about the raw sugar snap peas that came with it. I personally enjoyed the avocados and tomatoes, but just didn't care for the snap peas. The Marg pizza was decent. My daughter and I shared this pizza. We were happy enough with it; however, it wasn't anything worth raving about. A crispier crust would be an improvement on it.
The Kick'n Fried Chicken Sandwich was an impressive sight to behold. The chicken was stacked incredibly high and the pieces of chicken were really thick too. My husband bit into the chicken though and much to his dismay, discovered that those thick pieces of chicken came with a price. The chicken was not properly cooked and was actually a bit raw still in the centre. We told our waiter and the kitchen sent a replacement sandwich. This time, the pieces of chicken were thinner but properly cooked through. The manager came and apologized to us; when we received our bill, we noticed that they had removed the Chicken Sandwich from our bill.
We were happy with how they handled the situation with the raw undercooked chicken; however, our friends said that they had ordered a couple of drinks but had never received their drinks. It seems like they could improve upon their service somewhat. I'm a strong believer in second chances so I might still come back here again sometime, but only if it's a patio table as the dining room was far too loud for my taste.

Unfortunately, our experience in paying the bill was the worst part of the dining experience. Our large group was there for a birthday party and placed most of our orders for drinks/food before 5:45pm. The waitress came by for a 'last call' on happy hour a few minutes before 6pm and had left our table before 6pm with a few additional orders to ring in.
When we got the bill (which was over $550), around half of the food items were charged at full menu price, not the happy hour price. The drinks were all charged at the happy hour price. This was pointed out a few times to the waitress and at first we were told there was nothing that could be done at this point and people had already been paying for their meals. We asked to speak to a manager. The explanation we were given was not satisfactory and it seems like either because the waitress entered in the orders after 6pm or there was an error with the system, nothing could be done to retroactively adjust the prices to happy hour prices. It is quite poor practice to be doing a 'last call' for happy hour if there isn't adequate time to enter the order before 6pm, and then to not point this out either at the time of ordering or when providing the bills.
At the end of the night, for those of us who had lingered in the restaurant and dealt with this for about 30 minutes, we received a refund of our original amounts paid and were given new receipts with a few food items removed from them to offset the happy hour price difference. Unfortunately, the majority of our party had already left the restaurant without checking their bills and so they were all over-charged. Not a great way to wrap up a birthday celebration and the way it was handled left a sour taste in our mouth. It was lucky that we had an accountant and a lawyer at the table to notice the issue and sort things out - I can imagine this is not the only time this has happened, so be careful!
Edit: I emailed the Manager who responded including more details and a picture of our receipt, but...
