Mezze Uyghur Cuisine — Restaurant in Burnaby

Drove 35mins to try this place out.

Small shop with very little seating space but very clean.. they don't allow dine in due to covid anyways. There's no phone # to call just a chat option (which I got no reply btw) and an online menu. Some items were not available for order on their website so I had to use doordash to select those items and select 'pick up at store' option. The noodles in BAN MEI FUN were very crunchy. Idk if its meant to be like that or it was undercooked which was a turn off but the flavors on top were delicious. The Samsa was the most delicious item on the menu, keep in mind they are on the smaller side. The polo tastes similar to uzbek palao (also very delicious). Overall the flavors were good.. Just a few technical issues with missing pH # and missing menu items on their website under 'order' section.

Very disappointing for all the good review maybe they had an off day or you shouldn't deliver but just poor quality. First of all the Big Plate Chicken packaging was nice externally but once you remove the wrapping I saw that half the gravy spilled out into the plastic bag then spill out onto the table and on the ground when I slightly opened the bag. Also I think they added too much salt by accident cause the gravy all you could taste the salt the chicken was edible. To top it off they didn't include the noodles like they have in the pictures and also the description. We had to carefully transfer the dish so it didn't fall all over the flood (Not sure why you would put a gravy dish in a foil tray instead of sealable contained). I also ordered the Chow Mee Fun which wasn't bad not to my liking but atleast that didn't spill out food can not be to your taste but making food to extremely salty and having it spill is not acceptable. Was very excited to try this restaurant as the owners are from a very small part of China and was looking forward to trying a lot of their authentic dishes. However after many attempts and selections of everything on the menu I can openly state that I'm disappointed.... I've tried all of the dishes here but a majority of the times I have ordered their big plate chicken 大盘鸡 and 鸡肉拌米粉 chicken ban mi fen. Unfortunately it was always a hit or miss of either being undercooked/over watered and bland/or even burnt at times but today we ordered the chicken ban mi fen and found hair in our meal. To he honest it was way too thick and curly to be hair from the top of someone's head so I was definitely not impressed with this. Won't be coming back as I haven't had as many wins as losses with Mezze and will need to have food inspections/foodsafe done soon too to make sure no one else has to go through my experiences.
