Below average to average. Serviceable fast pho to satisfy the craving.
Ordered house special, usually the number one in other establishments and one spring roll.
Broth has the pho like qualities, but lacks depth in flavor. Probably needs more bone broth and stock. I'm not sure but there may be a chicken stock in the soup that reminded me of some instant flavorings.
Toppings with pho - approximately 200-250 grams, very light on toppings. Approximately 3 cuts of round steak, 1.5 beef balls, 2 pieces of flank steak and maybe one or two small pieces of tripe.
Note : Rent in Burnaby is greater than in Vancouver and it doesn't help that meat prices are quite high, that said, hakkaku ramen next door offers a full flavoured ramen dish at a good starter price, with additional toppings for additional charge.
I would recommend this establishment offer the same. Double meat for an extra 3$ for example .
Spring roll - very disappointing. These are hand made, but not in the vietnamese style. The wrapper is different. The part that's disappointing is that more and more establishments are using taro or lotus root as filler in the spring roll instead of only using ground pork
It's no bau chau, Thai son, or Nha Trang. It's quite far from those establishments in quality and taste ; however, service is excellent and the restaurant is exceptionally clean.
However, with their shortcomings, it seems inevitable that customers will opt for other food options once...
Read moreUpdated review below: Visited on a Sunday night at 7:00pm. Food was good but as it is a new business it felt a bit unorganized.
Compared to other pho in the neighborhood, I think their broth is best especially when you use their chili oil which is amazing. Noodles we're a bit more chewy which I liked too. However they give the least amount of proteins in the pho in the neighborhood.
Spring roll was just okay but they did bring it out once we we're half way through our meal which wasn't ideal. We saw another table who came in after us get it first. Also they missed our coke order.
Overall mistakes were understandable for a new business. We're likely to come back and try other dishes.
. . .
We've come to visit a few more times since our first visit. The noodles here are consistent and delicious. Once thing other establishments have difficulty with is consistency but Pho Mr Do always satisfies with their recipe. Compared to all the other phone places in the vicinity, this restaurant is clearly the winner.
Customer service is also extremely good. They set an example other restaurants should follow. What's unique about their customer service is that you can 100% feel that it is family owned. The owner is always their and speaks with all his regulars as if they are friends. They sometimes offer complimentary refreshments like homemade lemonade and make you feel at ease. Keep up...

We recently had our first meal here, and as a family of Vietnamese noodle enthusiasts, we were eager to try it out. We ordered a bowl of #29, a beef ball bowl for the kids, and a rice plate.
The service was excellent from the moment we stepped inside. Our server was genuinely happy and attentive, with a smile that never left her face, which made for a very pleasant dining experience.
The food was good, and the noodles were a standout—incredibly smooth, almost like cotton candy. They were also very generous with the portion of noodles in the bowl, providing more noodles than meat. However, the soup base, while light, seemed to be missing a certain element that would have elevated the flavor. It was good, but not quite a perfect 5-star broth for me.
Considering the reasonable price at $15.95 for a Large bowl, the meal was a great value. I would rate it a solid 4 out of 5 stars, and with a little more depth to the broth, it would easily be a five-star experience. We'll definitely be back to give it...
