Quesada Burritos & Tacos — Restaurant in Burnaby

This place used to be great--I previously gave it 5 stars for food and 4 stars for service, but today I am demoting them both to 1 star. Idk if management changed, or maybe its another victim of "shrinkflation," but they've become very stingy with their protein and cheese portions. I used to have satisfying chunks of ground beef, but now they're tiny little bits, like meat crumbs. I can't even taste the beef. The last 3 times I had it, it was like this, and the rice was very watery and overpowering--almost SLIMY. Their tomato is also mushy, as if its getting squished through an unsharpened slicer, giving the burritos more of an overall soggy texture. I had to ask them multiple times for chipotle mayo in the burrito, and they INSIST it goes on-the-side, but they kept forgetting it. The last I went there, I asked 3 times, gave up, and walked away.

They could also use more staff because they routinely get large Skip or Uber orders, which get priority, so you have to wait there while the single employee working makes 12 burritos and avoiding eye contact. Someone in the back occasionally pokes their head out and sees a big line, and stays in the back.

The staff are quite standoffish, in general, except for one girl over there who always remembers me and smiles--I like when she's there, but I don't see her often anymore. The other staff though seem to frown, maybe they're just getting some glare off the sun, but it just makes me want to hurry up and leave because I feel I'm just bothering them. I have stopped trying to exchange pleasantries because it is never returned and seemingly unwelcome. Just bad vibes. When two of them are working, they just chat to each other and they don't even look at me, they don't ask if I want anything else, and more often than not, they burn my burrito / quesadilla because they get distracted in their conversation. Last time, they said , "Oh, sorry," and boxed it anyways and passed it to me. I wouldn't have served food like that, especially a $14 food item (+tip). It was BLACK on both sides and tasted like char, yet somehow still soggy. If you don't eat it immediately, it'll just burst open on the unburnt sides from being so soggy from rice or bean juice. It used to be so good for YEARS, I don't understand what's happened.

Also, a hygienic issue: earlier this year, one of the staff had swept the floor and changed the garbage, then came over to the panini press, opened it with dirty hands to check on something the other staff was grilling, and walked away. I even called her out on it, and she just looked at me with a confused expression, and kept walking away. A minute later, the other staff went over and touched that same handle, and then touched the food. I left, I didn't eat there that day, and when I see her, I don't even go in. In retrospect, I'm surprised I went back at all.

If they stop burning my food and actually giving me a somewhat decent protein serving maybe half the time, I'll come back regularly, but...

AVOID!!! SCAMMY GHOST KITCHEN!!! I recently ordered from Quesada and was incredibly disappointed with my experience. To start, the restaurant is actually a ghost kitchen, meaning they lack transparency and authenticity. The meal itself was underwhelming, I could’ve made a lot better myself, or get a lot better from Chipotle. Definitely not worth the price in any regard. What's even more infuriating is that they marked the order as completed as soon as it was placed, preventing me from getting a refund. When I tried calling to address the issue, they refused to answer the phone until after the food was made. Overall this experience leaves me highly discouraged from ever ordering from Quesada again. Their deceptive practices and disregard for customer satisfaction are unacceptable. I strongly advise others to stay away and avoid falling prey to their scammy tactics. There are far better and more honest restaurants to choose from. If you could even call a ghost kitchen...

I FOUND MEAT IN MY VEGGIE BURRITO. I am a vegetarian of 7 years!!

I am so disgusted and angry with this location. I ordered off Uber eats and usually I get it from a different location but this time I accidentally ordered from here. I ordered a VEGETARIAN burrito and I just found pieces of steak inside! I felt something chewy, spit it out and it was steak! I haven’t eaten meat in 7 years and I am so afraid I’m going to get sick from this. I can’t believe the workers would allow this to happen. Whatever you do, DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE.

Besides this, every time I’ve visited this store in the past the workers have been rude, acted annoyed at us being there to order and the quality is always terrible, which is why I stopped going to this store. I’m so mad right now and more so don’t want to end up getting sick from this careless, easily...
