AMORA Café — Restaurant in Caledon

This used to be one of my favourite spots until I saw how they treat minorities specifically those presenting as muslim. Typically I've been given cups that are similar to plastic cafeteria cups for water but this was when I would arrive and it would be empty so I thought it was the norm. Today while it was full, everyone around me was served glass cups in a tray and she practically tossed these plastic cups at me. Then I chose to give them the benefit of the doubt, but new people entered and they were immediately served glass cups with trays. I called the server over to question her, not thinking anything deeply of it, but everyone who has worked in customer service knows that whoever called on you first is whom you should attend to . As she approached me a white women called on her and she ran to her needs. After all this, when i went to the front desk to deal with this issue, (and the person working there recognized me as I was a regular customer) As I was discussing to them my complaint a white man approached and they immediately left mid discussion to serve him. There is clear mistreatment for those presenting as muslim(hijabis) ,as throughout the whole store everyone around me practically being worshiped (everyone around me being white) and me a regular treated like garbage. This is unacceptable and disgusting not just the lack of proper customer service but knowing that those who own this are minorities as well. Shocked to know Ive been supporting a place that condones...

Update: I already had a great experience and love this cafe, but my visit today made it even better! There's no way I'm going anywhere else for dessert! Had a miscommunication about my order, which I'm sure was my mistake because I wasn't clear LOL I ended up being given a crepe instead of waffle, and right away (the owner?) apologized!!! And offered to make me the waffle order within 5 mins and for me to keep the crepe that I already had. At first i said no cause I felt bad and it would be such a waste, but he insisted and I agreed to get the waffle remade with no extra toppings, and for us to keep the crepe so I can eat the toppings from there! Again, I was reminded of why I wanted the waffle cause it was so fresh and crispy!!!!!! Absolute best with best customer service, can't ask for more. Thank you so much!

If you've been debating coming here, reading reviews before visiting, JUST DO IT! You won't regret it! I've said it before, I'll say it again, we will definitely be back!

Food Review: Nutella and Fruits Crepe

I recently tried the Nutella and fruits crepe and while the flavors were decent, there were some significant issues that need addressing.

Firstly, hygiene concerns were alarming. The food preparer, instead of using new gloves, opted to reuse them after washing the gloves..... WHAT THE F, which is a major health hazard. What's worse, they handled their phone and business cards before touching the waffle, crepe, and fruits, risking cross-contamination. This negligence is unacceptable and poses a serious risk to customers' health.

Additionally, the portion size was disappointing considering the price charged. Customers expect value for their money, and unfortunately, this offering fell short in that regard.

Moreover, the quality of the ice cream was subpar. It lacked freshness, and there was nothing Belgian about it as advertised. This discrepancy between expectation and reality was disappointing.

Overall, while the Nutella and fruits crepe had potential, the lack of attention to hygiene, small portion sizes, and low-quality ice cream detracted from the overall experience. Improvement in these areas is crucial to ensure customer satisfaction and safety....
