How does this place have a high review? I’ve been excited to try this place for so long but was extremely disappointed by the service.
Let me start off by saying that our server was rude to us from the beginning. He had zero customer service skills. I asked him for a recommendation between two chicken tacos and he just went silent. I then asked which one was more popular, and he said “I don’t know, I like beef” … wow thanks so much for your recommendation!
Note to the restaurant owner: hire friendly servers. I’ve seen similar reviews about unfriendly service at this restaurant and it’s clearly becoming a common theme here.
Problem number two. They brought the appetizer out in less than 5 minutes, which was fine. Then they brought my main out 2 minutes later, which was also fine. However, we waited 30 minutes for my husband’s main dish until we asked when his dish would be ready. Instead of owning up to the fact they delivered his main to the wrong table (which the manager confirms later), our server rudely said “it’s on the way”. Another 20 minutes went by and I had it. Keep in mind our drinks still hadn’t come!!! I told our server to give us the bill for the appetizer and we’re good to leave. He was like “ok” and started to walk away as I was still talking. If you hate your job that much, maybe try finding another one?
I think our server knew he was incompetent, so he decided to send what looked like the manger of the restaurant to our table. I will say, she seemed genuinely apologetic and asked if she could pack us the food to go which we appreciated. She also told us we didn’t have to pay, but seriously, what were we going to pay for? The rude service from our server? My cold tacos? The drinks and main that came out almost an hour later? She admitted that my husband’s main was accidentally sent to the wrong table and we were able to look past that because mistakes happen. But I refuse to go back purely because of our rude and...
Read moreWe tried this new place hearing a lot of hype from the local neighborhood. Nice environment to walk into. Once settled, after waiting for a while as a result of ignorance from employees, (with almost empty restaurant late afternoon) we were able to order something. We tried to have a small talk with the server complementing the setup, turned his back on us with no response. Pretending to ignore and that he didn't hear us!! Giving a second chance, we were waiting for our food. When our food arrived, we had requested to make it a little spicy and get spicy sauce on the side. None of it was heard!!! We got bland cheesy bean tacos which we ate with the sauces we had left over from our taco trio order. No one came over to ask if we needed anything or if the food was good. At this point, I got water which I asked for twice. Once done, the server handed the payment machine with no bill or no conversation. Do you think this visit deserved a tip? NO!!! So, we did not and the audacity of this person - tears the receipt and throws it on the floor in front of us - which we were not even asked if we want it or not. Is this how you treat your customers? Or is this relating to the race we belong to? You should close down this place if that is the case, because we are not a minority...
Read moreSo we experienced La Bomba Taco. Saturday night was very busy. Reservations would definitely be advised. We did get a table right away so luck was with us. But it was a full house. The service was inexperienced. Not what I would expect at a restaurant that purports to be evening dine-in. But maybe it will progress as time goes by, I’m sure it will. The food: my birria tacos were good. The beef is like a brisket, very melt in your mouth. But the three tacos had melted into one another so I had to pour the sauces over them and eat with a fork. Not especially spicy though they’re touted with 2 peppers out of 3 on the menu. Not filling as an entree. Recommend appetizers! The enchiladas were 4/5. The fish tacos, 5/5. The chicken burrito, found it to be a little bland. But huge burrito filled with chicken. The salad was superb. The spicy margarita I had was delicious. Overall a little on the higher end $$ for the return. But We will go back as it was a very busy night. I’d prefer a week night where they have more time per customer and get a better feel for the dine in experience. 4/5 for the first experience. But worthy of a return trip on a less busy night. Busy is...
