Came in here on a Saturday for lunch and coffee with my parents. After the staff member saw us studying the menu for 10 minutes we went to order and she told us they were out of all torta’s. Would have been helpful to let us know that one of the main items is not available when she saw us studying the menu. We pivoted and ordered burrito’s instead with our other food items and coffee. The coffee’s took a little while to come out. But the food took about 30 minutes to start coming out. This was mostly due to the staff chatting behind the counter while they slowly heated up everything on a hot plate. Two members of our party had their food for 10 minutes before the other two items arrived. Usually food comes out all at once for the table. The kicker was that they brought us quesadilla’s instead of burrito’s. At this point we were too hungry to complain so we just ate it. The rest of the food looked okay but the quesadillas were comparable to what I cooked on a pan as a college student. 4 coffee’s and 4 food items came to about $100 and I don’t think the price justified the quality of the food. Also drives me nuts that I was asked to tip in advance and then received dog shirt service. The coffee’s and hot chocolate were good, otherwise this would be a 1...
Read moreA friend recommended this spot as a place to have a casual meeting. I walked into a lovely surprise.
There is such a warm and welcoming feeling immediately after walking through the front door. Lots of natural sunlight. A modest but fitting decor. There was a great… aroma ( see what I did there) in the air but not the one I was expecting. I had no clue this joint also serves homemade Mexican cuisine and it’s definitely homemade. I even met mama who uses her recipes for the menu! I grabbed a plate of chorizo tacos and loved them. I need to try the choriqueso next time.
In the time I was there, I would learn that this is the second location of a family owned business. Absolutely lovely people.
Oh. And the original reason I came in. The coffee! A solid cappuccino. It appears that they source all their beans locally which is always a win.
I’ll...
Read moreWe tried the Easter brunch buffet and while the price is ok for an Easter brunch it was a bit disappointing. Very small containers and the lady kept serving us; so it made my partner uncomfortable as the buffet is supposed to be self-serve. When I asked for tortillas to eat the egg I was told it'd be too much given they had quesadillas and tortilla soup already. I don't think tortilla soup goes with brunch at all and I didn't appreciate being told that'd be too much; kind of rude. I didn't like the disposable cups for coffee or the juice; I know the price was not as steep but still for $25 per person I felt getting a cheap fix vs. a brunch as expected. I like the cafe but I just don't think I'll ever go to...
