Avatara Pizza — Restaurant in Calgary

Just, WOW! This was my first time trying Avatara and it is definitely not my last. I wish I took a picture before my boyfriend and I demolished our pizzas. It's easily the best pizza we've ever had; we had to the call them to let them know! My partner is sensitive to gluten and soy and this place had so many options despite his dietary restrictions (we're also both vegan). I called to ask what they had for vegan pizzas and the man told us basically all the pizzas can be made vegan! Another huge plus; their VEGAN CHEESE! It's not Daiya (thank goodness), he said it was restaurant-grade cheese that you can't just purchase at Superstore. It was the most "cheese-like" vegan cheese I've ever tried. The owner was so friendly, said he made the pizza with love, and it sure tasted like it.

The amount of toppings was so perfect, the cheese was goo-ey, and considering the crust was gluten-free, it had a nice crunch to it! Even when I microwaved it, it still had that crunch.. I was pleasantly surprised.

I don’t recommend this place as my pizza was OVERCharged , COLD, and horrible costumer and management. I ordered online for pick up. Each pizza was 34$ per 12inch pizza!! Pizza was very cold upon pick up. Also the manager gave me a discount in my email for today only to save 13.79. By calling and ordering’ ‘the supreme pizza feast.’’ 1-12 inch pizza, 1 side and 2 desserts = total saving for 13.79. Upon calling for my deal on my birthday The lady answered HAD NO idea what deal this is and asked for me to call back after she spoke to manager. After I did they told me manager meant to send me another email on my birthday- sorry this was a mistake! But I will offer you 1 extra chicken tender instead of 2 peices for the price of 2 chicken. Unbelievable. I am shocked I still went to place an ordered for a pizza that didn’t hold it value for this business. Or got my deal I got on my email on my birthday. I refuse to ever come back. For the 63$ I spent on 2 pizzas, I could have went to take my family out and bought a hot meal...

When we found out about Avatara's pizza we were so shocked the whole menu is Gluten-free. There are 2 locations but Shawnessy is close to home and our favorite. We had to keep asking a couple times if it's Gluten-free because we are so use to asking that question when eating out. My bf is celiac and it's really hard to find Gluten-free foods that he can enjoy truly. Here at Avatara Pizza I even enjoy all the foods, we've had close to everyone on the menu, the ribs fall off the bone, to the Mac n' Cheese and lasagna I can't even tell it's Gluten-free. The staff are really friendly and my bf is so happy when he eats here we absolutely love it and definitely recommend trying it out here for healthier tasty...
