barBURRITO — Restaurant in Calgary

This was our first visit and likely not our last. There are a few burrito specialty joints out there and this one has a some new options. Crispy chicken and jerk chicken are the choices that stick with me. The server who greeted us was loud (important in a radio powered space) and polite - 2 key qualities. It was interesting to see the simple portioning system of small ladles. When I asked for the limited time offer of their Northern Reaper hot sauce, I was cautioned that a signed waiver was required! That was completed after payment, of course. We'll, my barbacoa burrito was tasty enough with some great ingredients so the hot sauce became a distraction. The Carolina Reaper pepper base has a slow but deep burn to it. (My wife who didn't have the sauce was wondering why her lips burned - shared cola bottle Darlin'?). I won't need to do that next time. Her crispy chicken bowl had hot and freshly cooked protein but the overall volume of food seemed a bit light...

If you're in the mood for delicious Mexican food and quick service, Barburrito is a great choice - even for takeout! During my visit, I was impressed with the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff. And it's worth noting that even during a less busy time, they were still able to provide quick service and make my food in a timely manner.

I was particularly impressed with the flavors in the food - everything was packed full of delicious Mexican spices and flavors, making for a truly enjoyable meal. And the staff were just as friendly and accommodating during my takeout visit as they were when I dined in.

My friend Tim and I were there this evening. I had the street beef burritos and Mexi chips. Tim had the Bang Bang shrimp burrito and amexi chips. We were very impressed. The food was great ! Everything behind the counter is made in-house. Nothing is farmed out and trucked in. Even their salsa was delicious. With just a hint of spice. It's not your Pace or Old Elpaso salsa. But I can guarantee that you will like it ! This Barburrito restaurant gets two thumbs up and 5 stars from Tim & I. We are definitely going back there again. Great Mexican food, great atmosphere, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. And I'm not sugar coating this either. This is straight-up, honesty !
