I've been here three times. The very first time was great as they served me the best order of loaded fries I've ever had. It was so good it sold me on Boardwalk.
However, ever since then it's just been awful. This most recent time was just the last straw and not only was the food disastrously bad to the point of being a health hazard, but the service was easily the most abysmal thing I've ever seen in a Canadian restaurant.
Firstly, I was charged $8,50 for a burger so burnt that it wasted more like ash than meat. It was prepared so badly as I watched as the server / cashier / cook / janitor break the patty to pieces on the grill before haphazardly scraping off the scraps into my bun.. It was so burnt it could have been easily mistaken for charcoal. My mushroom burger had exactly 5 slices of mushrooms in it with a microscopic serving of what I can only assume to be cheese but tasted so rank it could probably have been slime mold from the underside of the grill. That was it. How was that worth $8.50? There wasn't a scrap of anything else on that burger, not even sauce.
And then there's the server. I don't know whether to pity her or be irate as she's the only staff member in the entire location. Is your franchisee a Mac's store owner because this seems to be the same exact management style where they hire one single staffer to run every single thing. I'm conveniently letting off the fact that I have yet to see her wash her hands or wear gloves even after handling money or doing some cleaning. She was also pretty angry the entire time, as she radiated an aura of wanting the entire store to burn down.
I'm not alone either. Just check out the reviews for this location. It's terrible. Everyone is cluing in to how bad it is here. What happened? It used to be so much better!
Is this what you want your brand to be? Because if it is I guarantee Boardwalk will be a joke within the year.
I miss my loaded fries so I'd prefer if you guys remained...
Read moreI was at this location recently, as I live in the area. However, I will not be returning to this franchise. The food is good, but not worth the price, in my opinion. We got 4 burger and fries combos, along with 1 milkshake, and the total came to almost $75.00. The food was flavorful and hot, and the milkshake was nice, however, while I understand that prices have increased, I didn't feel that the taste or the quality of the food was worth $75 for takeout burgers. The reason why I will not be returning to the franchise overall, especially this location, is because we waited over an hour for our food, and when we asked where the order was, they had lost the ticket with our order on it, so the kitchen didn't even know to make it. We had to prove that we had in fact purchased the food even though we were sitting in the dining room with the drinks and the milkshake from the order. They fixed the problem quickly, and the staff were very apologetic, however, there was no offer to make it right, no coupon to encourage us to return to the location. So, I'd much rather have a burger from a franchise or location that I enjoy and know I'll get my...
Read morePeanut Butter Banana milkshakes, I will definitely be returning! Really quite good, I think I payed 7.99 for a mushroom Swiss burger, cooked to order. Considering the price of a quarter pounder these days, I'd say thats very reasonable. While I am more than happy to wait for good food, my burger did take longer than expected, around 15 minutes, but was definitely hot off the grill. My girlfriend had chicken fingers with fries and gravy and the gravy was steaming it was so hot. The only real thing that kept me from giving 5 stars was the mushrooms on my burger were not seasoned, but surely cooked in house. Any explanation I come up with for this leads me to dark places which my psychiatrist says I should avoid so I will...
