Bombay Chowpatty — Restaurant in Calgary

Dear Bombay Chowpatty's Team,

I wanted to share my experience after ordering from your restaurant, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst meals I’ve ever had. Both the starters and the main course were beyond disappointing.

Starters:

The starters were a complete disaster. The flavors were off, the texture was unpleasant, and it felt like they had been sitting out for hours before being served. The supposed "crispy" items were soggy, and the chutneys tasted bland and watered down. It was clear that no effort was put into freshness or taste.

Main Course:

The main course was somehow even worse. The kadhai paneer were overly liquidity, lacking depth, and tasted like they were hastily thrown together with no balance of spices. The naan was dry and rubbery, and the rice had an odd, stale aftertaste. It felt like eating something that had been reheated multiple times rather than freshly prepared.

Overall, this was an extremely disappointing experience. For the prices you charge, this level of food quality is unacceptable. I had expected authentic and flavorful food, but what I got instead was a tasteless, poorly prepared meal that left me regretting my order.

I hope you take this feedback seriously because, at this rate, I would never consider ordering...

I rarely post a negative comment about restaurants but when the manager or head chef argues with you after serving pathetic dinner , than it’s not done with me. Have dinned in multiple restaurant around BC, USA and Canada , first time in my life - the customer is requesting the restaurant owner to speak slowly to maintain the reputation of the restaurant, where as the manager/ head chef is being argumentative. Starter’s where ok but the dinner - chickpeas ( cholye) , chaap and paneer were taste less. Chaap was literally chunks of nutri . Amritsari Kulcha was big aloo paratha and Chickpeas were just taken out of the freezer and heated up.After eating some food, we had everything packed to go and re-cooked all the curries next day for lunch. Customer service was zero pathetic, literally had to tell our server 3 times to get ice , we asked for chutney few times , servers reply was “ khatam hogi si”, and I had to get up myself to get the Kleenex. We visited your restaurant before Covid-19 food and service everything was good. Please try to maintain your cooking and service...

shame !!!! I fail to understand how come a restaurant called Bombay Chowpatty can possibly make such a horrible grilled cheese sandwich, for that matter how can any certified chef go that wrong in something as basic as grilled cheese sandwich. Never had I imagined,I would be writing such a review, but having paid 12 CAD+tax and such a pathetic mess.

front desk and restaurant staff have no welcoming vibe. bread as well as cheese, looked off, didn't seem to be fresh, before ordering I confirmed if it is only cheese or has vegetables, staff confirmed the vegetables, except they were there for absolute namesake.

rest it was a hot messy pile of cheese and bread (which I mentioned didn't smell right). and why would you drizzle raw onions with some chips on top of a sandwich ????

lesson learned hard way never ever...
