Such an interesting museum. In the forensic area, we did a fingerprint activity. In the K9 area, we read a funny booklet about all the service dogs. In the drug area, we attempted to match jars of powder or liquid to the poison that was listed. In the central hall, we attempted to solve an old murder. And in the history hall, we climbed in a police vehicle and turned on the strobes. There's a lot to do here, it's not just reading. Many interactive displays and they all work!
I would not bring young children; we came with 8 and 10 year olds and that was the right age. The group I observed with 3-5 year olds couldn't reach many of the displays but they did enjoy the police car.
The volunteers are fantastic. They know so much, and are very welcoming....

I also liked that they have additional activity clipboards and markers for kids to make it more interesting for them.
My teens who were not really keen on visiting a museum, were having fun trying or solving the activities.

It is totally free or you can leave a donation so good if you are looking for a free or cheap thing to...
Read moreIt was an extremely informative visit with lots to look at. The centre was divided into different sections, each section was just the perfect size to keep a child's attention span. We were able to sit in a police car, listen to a live radio stream of police activity, sit in a pretend jail cell and even do some problem solving in the forensics section. You can probably go through the centre in 2 hrs tops, which is perfect if you have kids.
Other things that impressed me is the amount of parking spaces available. The volunteers were super friendly as well. They walked around and presented us with tons of information. A must know, this centre is only open to the public on Fridays. Mon-Thurs is for...
