So my two boys (6 and 41/2) and my hubby and I decided to dine here last night. We don't usually visit this restaurant as we had a horrible experience at a different location. But we received a couple of coupons for free kids dinner at a local festival. I called ahead and asked if we needed reservations and they said that we did not. When we arrived they were extremely busy. We did not have to wait long, but if we had arrived 5 minutes later the wait time would have been longer as about 20 additional people arrived just after us! Our waiter was Isreal, he was amazing!!!Despite the fact that it was a full house he checked in with us every 15 minutes or so to ask if we needed anything. I have lived in Calgary for 12 years and have dined at many restaurants in different locations and this was one of the best services that I've ever received. One of the other reasons that we chose to come on a Wednesday was because they have a balloon artist there. The boys love balloons and we thought it would be fun for them. The balloon artist was at the table directly in front of us and made some incredible balloon characters for the children. We assumed we would be next as we were right behind them. He looked over at our table and our kids were excited and he said kind of rudely that he would be back as soon as he could. He went out to the patio our table overlooked the patio and created magnificent creatures for all of the children out there, 4 tables in total out on the patio. My boys watched from the window. He came in and went to the back of the restaurant and never did return. Our boys were crushed. I know it may not seem like a big deal but to them it was. If it wasn't for the balloon artist I would have rated this review 5 stars because of our waiter and the amazing service that we received. Read moreWe picked up 2 very cold pizza driving 5 minutes usually don't make your food cold I did take out thousands of times and never had pizza that cold ever served to me from take out. Taste good but take out service clearly do not care about customers. We arrived 35 to 40 minutes after the order time and the person making us pay was just giving us a hard time not knowing the pricing charging us an extra 15$ on the price told to us by phone. After it took over 10 minutes to be able to pay with the food next to us cooling down even more. The debit machine was really problematic it kept asking for tip when we didn't want to give tip clearly with the way we were served it cost 70$ way too much expensive a real waste of money just for pizza specially take out shouldhave a discount of 20% minimum other pizza stores do that don'tforgetit is only dough and few ingredients. The person working there admitted the debit machine was giving problems to everyone. Never again this place is black listed. They should refund us the way we were served I don't want to be treated that way anymore so I will not go to Boston Pizza anymore for sure a real joke that place no food warmer or put the pizza on top of the pizza oven is simple logic. I did eat in another Boston Pizza location before in Calgary and the pasta were very oily the bacon was only fat the entire bowl that isn't a joke that was why I didn't eat for a while at Boston Pizza and will not go anymore. Read moreI used to love this location!! The staff continues to be extremely friendly and helpful. They’ve always been the reason I go so frequently. However, lately I’ve been having issues with cross-contamination on several different occasions. I’ve been a vegetarian for a very long time, and with that being said, very aware of the food I’m allowed to eat. The last 2 visits I’ve found meat in my dish. I try not to fuss over it, because the service has always been impeccable and I know it’s rarely the servers fault, and the first time I called it to their attention they were incredible accommodating. Unfortunately, tonight was a different experience. When I spoke to the manager and she begun by telling me that there was no meat in alfredo sauce, and therefore no meat in my dish. I persisted, because as someone who personally works in the food industry, I know what meat smells and looks like (I also asked my meat-eating friend to smell it to double-check). The manager replaced my meal (only after I insisted that what I found in my food was meat), but she clearly lacked any sort of sympathy, and was extremely passive, which is extremely out of character for this location. She never apologized or seemed concerned, which shows an extremely disappointing regard for dietary restrictions, which is a pretty big component in working with food. Long story short, I think I’m done eating here. I still stand by all the servers I’ve had, they’ve always been incredible.
