Not my first time having bow tie, but my first at this location and having these 2 flavours: chicken pesto chicken chipotle
For both pies I ordered extra sauce and dairy free cheese. I appreciate how they called to let me know that the pesto suce contained lactose cheese.
For the pesto, the extra sauce was good. But it did make the pie extra greasy. The box was soaked. For the chipotle, I regret asking for extra sauce. I didn't know the sauce would be mayo based, so it was just too much heavy mayo taste. Ughhh Normally, I love pizza with extra sauce (especially tomato sauce)
My order came with a free creamy dill which was a surprise. Tbh I would never order this sauce so I'm glad they included it because it blew me away. So fresh and delicious!! I feel like I can't order bow tie without this sauce now lol!
I like how the sauce and toppings go to the edge of the pizza as I don't like crust. I agree with another review that says you can't taste the crust due to the heavy toppings and sauce. That's true. The pizza I had in italy was the best crust ever and you could taste the flavour in every bite. Because there is so many toppings, the pizzas sag and are wet. But the bottom was still a bit crispy. I imagine when I reheat my leftovers tommorw on a hot pan, the bottom will crisp up more.
I also like how the website gives you the option for extra well done.
Overall, I found the pizza a bit expensive and it's not my favourite. But I do agree it is good quality, tasty, and good...
Read moreI have an obsession for pizza. I have tried almost every single pizza places in Calgary, Lethbridge, and Edmonton.
I am not writing this review to impact this place negatively at all. I am writing this review and hopefully this will be some feedback for future improvement.
I ordered 4 pizzas; two were chicken, one donair, and one cheese. I would give the chickens 4/10, the cheese 2/10, and the donair 3/10. I am so sorry, but I am quite disappointed to be honest.
The pizzas were dry, and definitely overcooked as you can see in the pictures. The distribution of the meat, onions, and vegetables is uneven. One slice has too many toppings, and one has minimal toppings.
I honestly felt bad spending the $129.11 for only four M pizzas, not even L. I am not sure if this is supposed to be a fast food pizza place, or an authentic pizza place. For me, this is a very pricey pizza restaurant for this quality.
Don’t get me wrong, the staff there were amazing and very friendly. However, I definitely don’t recommend this pizza place if the quality/ price stay the same. I don’t mind spending $300 for four pizzas as long as I get a great pizza that doesn’t tear my lips and gums because its too dry/hard.
I really hope that the owner sees this review and read it all. I am the biggest supporter of local businesses and I love watching them thrive and become successful, but we have to raise the standard and provide the greatest experience/ quality for...
Read moreIf you’re like me, you watched Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as a child and have spent your whole life searching for a real life version of the gooey pepperoni pizza those ninja turtles ate. As a kid I believed it to be the perfect pizza. I lost faith for a while in my 20s, chalking it up to a cartoon’s unrealistic portrayal of real life. Now I’ve learned: Bow Tie has that pizza, and it’s called New York Pepperoni. Crispy pepperoni sits atop cheese so gooey you think it might slide, but as you lift the drooping slice above your mouth, it stays magically intact. Many crusts are a mere vessel, left behind on plates. This crust is crispy and the sauce could honestly stand alone in its own show. My forgotten childhood dreams...
