Don’t BOTHER !!! Called in our order for pick up from the South Location. Mestizo was chosen for my husband’s birthday dinner July 10 2025. Our bill was approximately 90$ for 3 adults and 1 child. The food portions we received were completely unacceptable We ordered Barria tacos which apparently because we did not order them correctly! So this is a customer problem !! We are at fault !! Yet this is what a Barria taco is described as when you search how it is cooked !! Corn tortillas are dipped in the rich red birria consommé (the broth) and then fried on a griddle. This gives the tortilla a reddish, slightly crispy exterior. Here at Mesitzo unless you order this as fried they do not do that !!! Very odd considering every other Mexican Restaurant I’ve been to seems to get this correct. We ordered a kids Quesadilla: yet another disappointment this was the smallest corn tortilla possible with cheese in it and fried !! How cheap it’s not even enough to even feed a 2 year old and it was disgusting . I threw it out and made my child a Ham Sandwich . We order salsa and guacamole they forgot this yet we paid for it. We did call when we saw items were missing they said drive back and we will give it to you we forgot to put it in the bag ! Again not a me problem !! We spoke to the fact that the Barria Tacos were not as expected here’s where they told us we needed to order it this way. At some point when you realize a customer who spent 90$ is not happy and you are a small business you need to step up because I have told people about this horrible experience and now I’m writing about it. Maybe these people can figure out number one how to cook food properly and offer quality and quantity number two do you want return business ? Then act...

If you hate big bold flavours, fresh tortilla’s and traditional Mexican Taco’s, then this place is NOT for you!

I ordered the mix and match so I could sample multiple different offerings. I picked the Chorizo (pork sausage), Tinga (pulled chicken), and Lengua (beef tongue). Also had to try the Conchinita Pibil (Mayan Pork) cause it just sounded delicious.

Each meat had its own incredible flavour profile and juicy tenderness. Literally flavour bombs that made me want to savour each taco. Tacos also came with two amazing salsa’s, one mild and the other spicy. Adding the salsa’s just elevated the tacos to another level.

I cannot decide which one was my favourite as each one brought an unforgettable taste adventure. If I had to pick, I think the beef tongue was the best, not only due to never having it before but how shockingly tender and delicious it was.

Quite easily some of the best tacos I have ever had!

If you’re looking to treat yourself to some authentic tacos that will take your taste buds to the next level, make sure you try this place out! You won’t be...

If I could give a minus 5 I would have definetely done it. The owner I guess is the older person who cooks and sometines takes orders, really bad customer service skills actually none. My family and I have ordered chilaquiles before and the chicken taste was just the worst ever. We said we gave it the benefit of the doubt and may be it was just that one day, Now just this last weekend, we were looking at the menu, he aproches with a pen to take the order I suppose, asked us what we wanted and we said we were not ready yet he then threw the pen on the counter with an attitude. So we just walked away, but we have seen that kind of behaviour in him before but this one time topped it off. Never again coming back nor I recommend this place to anyone. Worst mexican food place...

Some of the absolute best tacos in town! The only negative thing I could possibly say is that they aren't open everyday 🤪 Because I could eat these tacos every dang day! Fantastic prices, great variety, you can enjoy the tacos right inside the market or get them to go! They also have frozen items you can take home to enjoy. My personal favourite is the sirloin tacos with a glass bottled coke. In my opinion this is the best location in all of the Avenida market. Would love to see them open either a food truck or a little dine in location but I will continue to go every weekend.

This is a review of the birria tacos only, which I obtained as takeout, and it is strangely only available on weekends. According to the person working there, they often sell out so shop early. The fresh flavours and ample lamb portion made this $20 purchase worth it. That said, however, those looking for Birria tacos commonly seen on the internet (oily and fried and possibly cheesy) will be disappointed. Furthermore, there were only 4 small soft tacos provided (see picture). Those looking for a light and fresh Mexican lamb dish will be thrilled.
