I like to come here a lot even during Covid, no problems at all. Today was a different story. After I ordered I had noticed they have six people working and 3 not wearing a mask. I nicely asked for a refund, didn't want to say why because I didn't want confrontation but they asked so I told them it was because they have all this food out like cut up potatoes and are handling and cooking the food without masks on. She was rude and I just said I don't want to argue I just want my money back. She proceeded to tell me that they don't do debit refunds so I said I don't care just give me my money back please. She pulls out this tin of money and is going through it and was going to give me only the items I paid for but I had also tipped so I asked for the full amount. I will be reporting this place for not following health and safety guidelines and if you go here and see stuff like this please do as well. I want to support local businesses and get them through this hard time but I will not support businesses that aren't being safe and looking after their customers. I will never go here again. Please stay safe everyone!
Since you can't reply after the owner replies I will edit this instead. You say they always follow the rules then your should talk to the older gentleman who was preparing the food and putting stuff in the boxes with no mask on. I'm assuming you guys have cameras there so when the health and safety come they can review the footage from today. Do not act like I don't know what I saw and am making this up. I have been a loyal customer for 7 years since I moved into McKenzie Towne and I would have zero reason to post this about a place I have ate at regularly for no reason. Follow the safety guidelines like every other food place does. You even sell masks at the front so how come your employees cant wear one? You should not be cooking and preparing food without a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreScrewed up an office lunch! It was my turn to do our monthly lunch hour organizing as we do this at work each month. I work in a group of 11 people. I had bragged about Chicken on the Way a lot so some other employees were waiting to try it out as most had only tried Mary Browns and KFC. Now I should mention I always go to the location by the Brick on Macleod when I want chicken but noticed they had this location in Mckenzie which was just a tad bit closer to our office. I called in at 11 and talked with the lady and told her I was going to place the order and then pick it up at noon. I placed our order and was good. I got there at 1155 and told the lady I was here to pick up and they had not even started it as she said it was busy! Finally got the order ready at 1220! didn't get back to the office til 1230 already lost 30 mins of lunch. Now on the missing or screwed up items. missing 3 pieces of chicken, I think fries too but somehow the fries were in a big box so have no idea if they combined them or more importantly why???? missing 4 corn balls and 4 pieces of chicken didn't have skin on them or it fell off and was no where to be found. Called the store immediately and asked for a manager to complain and was told he stepped out and to try a bit later. Are you serious! So my lunch choice was an epic fail and reading the comments from the manager here seems like they only apologize and offer you nothing for there mistakes! Unbelievable. You want my business again then fix it. Give me an incentive worth me choosing you again. I could've and should've gone to my tried and true...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've been going to this location for years.. 3 and 4 times a week.. I love the chicken and have started ordering the fish.. fantastic.. the staff is hot and cold though.. the owner, management and family is great.. ask and you shall relieve. Or get charged for it.. The weekend staff need help.. asking for a extra tartar sauce with your fried fish.. I even offered to pay for it.. nope. Company policy means 1 fish 1 sauce how dare you ask for 2 even if you offered to pay. They sell fresh chicken.. whole or cut up.. great for my family.. ask them to buy a couple potatoes to save a trip to sobeys during covid times.. even after I spent 100 bucks and offered way more then the potatoes were worth.. nope. Wouldn't even try to ask someone who can make those decisions.. overall its a great location with good food.. carefull who you deal with though.. some of the employees follow the company line so much they don't realize that a happy customer is a returning customer. Just dont ask for anything extra or offer to pay for anything extra.. these are different times for sure and we should all be working together to stay in business... i know the potatoes today was a strange request.. but knowing how awesome some of the staff is I figured a favor of paying to much for 5 potatoes so I didn't have to go into the lager grocery store for 1 item would have been...
