Your neighborhood “fly restaurant” offers the best authentic Szechuan cuisine outside of China!
The location might seem unassuming, with limited onsite parking and a simple, cozy interior. There are only a few tables, and they’re almost always occupied—a testament to the restaurant’s popularity. Hearty, delicious, and served in huge portions at competitive prices, it’s no wonder people travel from afar to eat here, highly recommended by a Calgary local friend.
The flavors are bold, spicy, and authentically Szechuan, with the perfect balance of mala (麻辣) heat and numbing sensation (you can choose the level of spiciness). Standout dishes include chili oil dumplings, crispy Chongqing-style fried chicken, Ma Po tofu and sizzling hot pot. The service is fast and efficient, though minimal on small talk—it’s all about the food here.

This is probably one of the most genuinely Szechuan restaurants that can be found in Western Canada (or so I am told). A fully packed restaurant boasts further to their exceptional taste and cozy ambiance.
