Edo Japan — Restaurant in Calgary

I used to eat here 3 times a week. Since the place took on new ownership a few months ago, the quality has diminished. It took me quite a few tries these past months before I gave up on the place. The rack they plate the food on that's over the grill is always dripping with old food that is falling down onto the grill, right into your food. So you get a few dry, old veggies with your meal that fell down. The veggies are already on the grill before you arrive, sitting under a pot lid burnt and soggy, so the old ones that fell in mix right in unnoticed. The rice from the big pot is soggy and gross. The sauce is way thicker and way too sweet now. The portions are quite a bit smaller too, less meat, less rice, less broccoli. The container used to be full, now it's about 3/4 inch from the lid. A health inspector really needs to visit that place. I want my old...

I wish I can give this place -stars! I went here and tried ordering food. I was ignored twice. Finally they were ready to take my order and I see one of the workers scrape rice from the bottom of another bowl into a new bowl that he is gonna serve.

Even worse I’m waiting 20mins for my order. I ordered a noodle bowl with shrimp. The worker puts beef on my noodles, realizes that is is wrong and scrapes the beef off of my bowl and puts it on someone else’s order while still trying to serve me the noodles that already touched her greasy beef.

Like why not just make a new order! Seriously are you that cheap!

ON TOP OF THAT, they were using the same utensils for the beef as the fish. Idk but this all was so gross and unsanitary that I requested a refund and just left. And will NEVER eat at Edo...

Horribly unpleasant staff! The sushi was a total embarrassment to even be presented at the client , let alone to be sold to them as appropriate item to eat ! The smell was horrific, old frying oil and a pinch of the unknown! I payed for my food , and literally was discussed of what I received for my $15+ , half of it fell on the floor the rest I slapped back at their extremely dirty frying top! I refuse to eat garbage presented to me as a sushi, it looked and smelled like an old shoe! It’s a shame , the quality is a total loss! For a fast food to charge $15 , you must present way better quality food! This mush was an insult to every sushi lover!...
