Calgary has an impressive number of Indian restaurants, but Flavours of India really is a keeper; a little nugget of culinary gold right in the heart of Palliser Drive SW, Calgary. I have ordered the Dinner for Two twice now, and both times were absolutely amazing!
Each dish just drips with authentic flavour and is clearly made with pride and love. The portions are hearty, the presentation is inviting, and the quality is first-rate. From the soft, buttery Naan to the fragrant Dal Tadka - the flavours are deep, hearty, and unforgettable. Not to mention the Butter Chicken - rich, creamy, and just the right amount of spice. Pure comfort food heaven.
Ordering from their website was a breeze, and both times the meals showed up piping hot, incredibly fresh, and packed with care--you can taste the pride and passion in every single bite.
Whether you're new to Indian food, or a die-hard fan of strongly flavoured food, Flavors of India is a must. It is a cozy, welcoming escape that I will return to - often - and cannot...
Read moreWe went to Flavors of India for the first time on March 2, 2024 and were totally impressed. We dined in the restaurant which was spotless, had piping hot food that was absolutely delicious and had so much food left over as the portions were so generous that we had a repeat meal two days later. We ordered Butter Chicken which had lots of chicken in a most delicious sauce, Kadai Vegetables that had lots of veggie types in a very tasty sauce and Plain Rice. There was a special on that night whereby if two dishes were ordered the garlic naan bread was free (3 pieces) and that was just delicious as well. We ordered mild spicing and found it was just perfect for us. We used to go to Taj Mahal for good Indian food but not any more after discovering Flavors of India. Very lovely proprietors as well! We will most definitely be back; in fact, we can't...
Read moreI don’t usually write reviews, but I had to make an exception for this place. I’ve been craving really good Indian food, and being gluten intolerant makes it a bit of a challenge—especially when it comes to naan bread. But wow, this exceeded all expectations. Both me and my non gluten intolerant husband were so impressed by how flavorful everything was, and the portion sizes were generous—especially the chunks of chicken in the curry with big, tender pieces of melt in the mouth chicken.
We tried the butter chicken, korma, and onion bhajis—the butter chicken and bhajis were definite standouts 🤤. I was also happy to find they offer gluten-free naan. It’s not amazing on its own, but it worked great with the curry. The saffron rice was perfectly cooked and full of flavor too. Honestly, everything was spot-on. We’ll absolutely be...
