After a minor lunchtime crisis—aka forgetting my lunch—I found myself wandering into Howie’s Pizza, and I have to say, it was a surprisingly delightful turn of events. The moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with the warm, welcoming aroma of fresh dough and melted cheese, as if the pizza gods themselves had summoned me.

I opted for their classic cheese slice, and let me tell you, it was love at first bite. The crust? Perfectly crispy with just enough chew to make it feel like a homecoming. The sauce was tangy and vibrant, like it had been kissed by the sun itself. And the cheese? Well, it had that magical stretch that made me momentarily forget I was an adult with responsibilities.

What truly set the experience apart, though, was the service. The staff was friendly and down-to-earth, treating me like a regular, even though it was my first time. It's the kind of place that makes you feel like you're not just another customer, but part of the Howie’s family.

In the end, forgetting my lunch was a blessing in disguise. Not only did I avoid the sad, sad fate of scrounging in my car for morsels the kids may have left behind, but I discovered a pizza joint that I find myself walking into multiple times per week. Whether you are picking this pizza up by the slice, or a whole pie, it is always top quality. Genuinely one of the best pizza places in the city, and absolutely the best for this style of pizza. The crust is crunchy and flavourful; the bottom of the dough is crisp, and the inside light and fluffy. The cheese is not only plentiful, but, and this cannot be emphasized enough, it’s REAL. I repeat the cheese is REAL cheese, and it shows. The cheese stretch when you pull one of these bad-boys out of the box will scintillatingly remind you of the Saturday morning cartoon pizzas that used to look so delicious on screen. The tomato sauce has an excellent blend of spices in it, giving the pizza a nice bite. It is lightly brushed on, so that it doesn’t overwhelm the other parts of the pizza, and it is never oozing out as you eat. The ratio of ingredients on the pizzas is perfect. The dough is delicious with delightful texture. Qualities of ingredients, and a passion for pizza, are undoubtedly the backbone of what makes this place so great. First time I've been here and moved to the area roughly two years ago. The lady who answered the phone was very polite and took my order effectively.

From the outside the shop - to me - looks so small, inside they have - for a small family owned place - I consider massive back/cooking area that appeared in clean and orderly condition. Their take home frozen pre made food is in a freezer that is easily accessible and I was acknowledged pretty quickly by one of the cooks who communicates effectively with me to figure out which order was mine and who would help me with payment.

The young man behind the counter was busy but when he handled my payment it was quick and easy.

As mentioned in the photo the pizza was hot, not crazily greasy and cooked. I think it could have used a few more minutes but it was not super doughy or dripping oil like chains would let happen. I am happy with my order and would probably get another pizza and maybe a side dish...
