Regal Beagle Pub — Restaurant in Calgary

The one star i provide belongs to our server. She was prompt, polite and apologetic about the failiures on food. She actually deserves more stars as she seemed very upset at our predicament and was very polite. On the other hand, the wings. We went in search of the best wing spot near westbrook, reagle beagle was highly recommended. I am shocked as to why.

We arrived and were served fairly promptly for people at 10 pm with a hockey game on. Again our server was not lacking, our drink order was taken and deliverd, our first round of wings was garlic butter parm and cajun hot parm. The gar butter was passable? Mildy buttery more like margerine and some kraft crumb parm, the cajun? Like franks with the same kraft parm. Next round we order salt and pepper and the signature house beagle flavour, salt and pepper is well bland as hell but breaded decent. Beagle flavour was described as a herbed honey garlic? Arrived as sugar coated lemon pepper. We decided to try one more round? On special right?

Well my boyfriend orders dill pickle and i order honey garlic this time. His dill pickle arrives before mine. It tastes exactly like the salt n pepper but like a dill pickle was sneezed near it. The honey garlic? Tasted like straight corn syrup. We sent both back. My boyfriend requested buffalo in place of his dill pickle and i just didnt want more.

The last order that arrived? The supposed buffalo to replace the dill mistake? Was an order of dill with a spinkle of hot sauce. I even offered the server one uneaten(we ate one between us both) and she agreed it smelled like the dill seasoning with a slpash of hot sauce.

I get having a bad night. It happens to the best of kitchen staff. But have some pride, go scream in the walk in and send out good food! As much as you fantasize! Never send out a revenge order. You fail, you recognize, you do better. Curse the customer in your mind and still push out your best work. One past line cook to the kitchen...

I am so utterly disappointed with how this place has gone down hill. My husband and I used to frequent this place on Fri & Sat nights (and karaoke nights to see Frank sing Frank Sinatra). We moved away and while back visiting with a friend, I was anxious to go and catch up with old friends and see the old stomping grounds. I was so embarrassed to bring my friend (as I bragged about how I loved the place). The place was disgusting! It was filthy, filthy, filthy. The floors didn't look like they had been swept or mopped in who knows how long. The glasses..... well lets just say I was afraid to drink out of them. The dust was so thick you didn't dare bump a shelf or anything. We were literally the only ones there. We ordered wings and draft beer and the beer was room temperature at best. The wings were good and the chef was nice but the 2 girls that were working left us speechless. Our server was nice enough but explained that she was new and had only been with the pub "for a day or so" and therefore did not know a lot about the specials aside from what was on the grim dirty menu's that we were truly afraid to touch. The other server had the most ridiculously snippet and nasty attitude as if to act as if we were inconveniencing her with our droll questions. We felt uncomfortable as we were eating our food when the 2 girls went to sit in the corner booth and proceeded to whisper and give dirty looks while directing their stares in our direction as if to be talking and mocking us so we asked for a box for our wings and quickly paid our bill. No matter where I go or the circumstance, I always leave a sizable tip of 30% or more but this time as I left the tip, my friend promptly picked the tip up and stuffed all but $5 back in my purse. As we left she said "NOT A CHANCE"! In, short..... I am saddened by the decline for what was a very found memory for me. I am happy to keep it as a memory. Save your money. This place should...

As my family and I entered, we were asked by the owner to sit to the right because there was a party coming in to fill the left side.. no problem.... We sat.. 30 minutes goes by... a waitress says I'll be right with you.... another 30 minutes untill drinks came..... as we watched, we saw the owner do absolutely nothing. The 2 waitress worked there butts off and tried their best to serve everyone. The problem was..... The carbonation in the drinks needed to be replaced , therefore, no one could be served pop until fixed. unfortunately, no one knew how to change it , it being the one waitress first week and the other only a few weeks.... instead of the owner helping a customer from the bar, he helped change it... I watched food sit at the window for 15+ minutes... waitress google searching how to make drinks because no one was trained.. The owner was too worried about the birthday party not being able to work the projector screen... and entertain them. The birthday party guests go behind the bar and into the kitchen. The party blocked the area to get the bathrooms the whole time , it was just a very uncomfortable situation. Even though we waited an hour for drinks and longer for food, we were okay with it because the waitress was awesome... not once did the owner apologize or try to make anything right . If you are understaffed, do not take on a big party...

We used to really enjoy coming here it was a great family night out. We come every Saturday. Unfortunately, the last few months and after tonight, I have seen enough . We will find a new...
