My friends and I were deeply disappointed with the service we received during a recent visit for a friendâs 18th birthday dinner. I had made a reservation for what appeared to be a relatively quiet evening, but the way we were treated from the beginning made it clear that our group was not welcome â largely because of our age. We had planned to bring our friend after our other friends got there so we could surprise him. However, when our group arrived before us to prepare, they were told to leave the restaurant, despite notifying the restaurant that they were with the reservation of 11 we had booked, which completely disrupted our plan. Multiple friends contacted me in a panic, saying they were being asked to leave for being underageâeven though some of them were already 18. We were told we needed to be accompanied by legal guardians, which is not accurate as long as at least one person in the group is 18. (Half of our party was 18) I had even called ahead to confirm the policy and was told it would be fine as long as we arrived before 9 p.m.âour reservation was at 4:30 p.m. The way we were treated felt like blatant age discrimination. The problems didnât stop there. Our group of 10 was split between two tables, despite there being a larger open table nearby. When we asked to be seated together, we were met with an unnecessary attitude and refusal. Although the table did not have any reserved sign on it and was open for the length of our time there. We ended up squeezing around one table with barely enough room for our meals. Which genuinely made the entire experience uncomfortable. After resolving the age issue, some of the adults in our group decided to skip ordering drinks at the table and asked if they could enjoy a drink at the bar instead. They were told no. Meanwhile, the birthday guest â who had just turned 18 â was served two shots without even being carded, while other guests who had their IDs out were ignored. The inconsistency and disregard were unacceptable. We also felt rushed throughout the meal. After placing our order and barely finishing dessert, we were handed the check and clearly expected to leave. The only staff who showed us any courtesy were our main server (who started midway through our meal) and the bartender â both of whom were kind and professional. Overall, the experience was marked by disrespect and poor treatment. I dont understand why we were being discriminated against because of our age â We werenât loud, rude, or causing any problems, this is something that should never happen in any place of business. When paying she looked so mad and annoyed with a frown, ignoring me completely the whole time and again totally unnecessary as it states in the coupon thatâs not needed not sure why someone would react this way besides being entitled and immature. Secondly, on a separate occasion I ordered some milk, I received it in a small cup which had never happened before and my milk tasted off like it had some type of spice the person I was out with confirmed that as well, I brought this up and was then served in a regular sized cup and the milk tasted much better. Upon paying the server put both milks on my bill, I said I shouldnât be made to pay for that she responded with well the milk was fine we checked the expiry totally disregarding my experience and saying that no, I had to pay for both. I stated that wasnât acceptable and I would like to speak with the manager she then raised her voice and quickly said, â so what? What do you want me to do? Take it off the bill!?⊠to which I confusedly responded umm yes. Taken aback by her annoying and entitled attitude Iâm not sure if their hiring pool is straight out from an illiterate, entitled, and immature high school but both experiences have been completely unavoidable if they could have been professional and humane. Again Iâm not sure where their entitlement came from as they themselves did not build the company and even if they did they most likely would have never reacted or made their customers feel that way. Again, upon paying I was totally ignored and she had a huge frown on her face even after saying thank you to her in a very very kind way even though seemingly her world was changed and crushed by the decision to not make a customer pay for a milk that tasted off and served in a inconsistent cup size.
