Had the pleasure of dining at Moxie's Test Kitchen in Shawnessy, Calgary, Alberta — an unforgettable culinary experience from start to finish.

Our group of eight was treated to the exclusive Chef’s Table, where we sampled new summer menu items thoughtfully curated by the kitchen team. The evening kicked off with a refreshing Prosecco Paloma, setting the tone for the night. A rich Cabernet Sauvignon accompanied dinner beautifully, and a velvety Espresso Martini was the perfect pairing with dessert.

We started with the Spicy Tuna Sushi Roll — absolutely outstanding in both taste and texture. This was followed by the Fancy Beet Salad, a beautiful combination of roasted red beets, baby greens, pumpkin seeds, Macedonian feta, goat cheese, and a zesty Italian vinaigrette. The presentation was as delightful as the flavors.

The main course was a showstopper: a steak platter showcasing four different cuts and sauces, alongside their incredible Chipotle Mango Chicken — juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The accompanying roasted beets and asparagus rounded out the dish beautifully.

To finish, we indulged in a vibrant, creamy Key Lime Pie that was bursting with citrusy goodness.

What truly elevated the evening was the exceptional service — the chef, manager, and waitress all took time to engage with our group, making sure every detail was taken care of. We spent three unforgettable hours being spoiled by the hospitality and culinary innovation on display.

If you are looking for healthy and tastey food this is your choice, the food taste good and feels good, but this is not why iam writing a review, iam writing this for the exceptional service provided by Moxies and how good they handle situations .. iam a regular customer and i make orders at least twice a week, last night i ordered chicken Mango and when i went home it was Salmon. Salmon is also good so i ate it and decided not to complain, but next day i was passing by so i tgought i still want the meal i ordered from last night, so i went to order the chicked and decided maybe i should explain the situation about last night to the waitress, then she called the manager i think her name is Ashlynn, and Ashlynn is the manager, she came by herself to handle the situation she listned to me all the way and she aplogized for the situation and when i got my meal i was surprised that its on the house, i tried to tell Ashlynn that iam not about the money but she insested that it was the resturant fault and they would like to treat me this time, i was very impressed how the manager handled the situation without arguments or execuses or wishy washy talking .. she was straight to the point, recognized the problem and handled it swiftly. Iam very happy with this resturants from all aspects and i would recommend...

Moxie’s Shawnessy is one of our favourite all-purpose, anytime, dining establishments in the city of Calgary. Of the many restaurants around, no experience each and every time we have been here has been so satisfying. We had a variety of servers (in our frequent visits there) all of which, if not recommending excellent wine/food pairings, went the distance to provide outstanding service. Of the ones that come to mind, Matt is one of the most decent, restaurant service practitioners we have ever had the fortune of interacting with. This hospitality promulgates throughout the staff and management to the extent that is more a business culture.

As for the delectable choices of food in the menu? You have a variety of choices from pastas, burgers, and steaks (pictured) to more flavourful dishes such as a unique ramen noodle dish and popular spicy beef vindaloo (pictured). Prices are moderately priced. If there were anything to suggest about this menu is that it requires a bit more additions to it, particularly the desert menu.

The overall ambiance of this Moxie’s keeps making it our default place to enjoy a night of great food and conversation.
