My brother in law brought me to this gem. I stood out and first thing caught my attention is the name of the creative name of the restaurant. They embedded YYC into their name which is the airport code for Calgary airport. Very clever! I walk in and I get a nice American style burger joint feel. A very suburban location feel. Small place no seatings. Bench seatings are available opposite and you maybe have it in your car in the abundant parking space available in the plaza. You take the order and the food is delivered to your vehicle or the bench were you are seated. You walk in and you see young energetic staff with bright yellow shirts. Friendly and polite serving with pride. I observe good organization in the back moment the order is made. We went as a family so we made order for multiple items. I personally order for myself a classic cheese burger with lettuce, onions, tomatoes, mayo, ketchup, mustard and pickle. This place definitely had many other interesting options. I have heard on Fridays they have specials such as Korean fried chicken burger with kimchi and also fish and chips. But I always go to any restaurant to always taste the most basic dishes. If they can deliver on the most basic dish. Then it is worth trying the others. Oh yes I also order a chocolate milk shake another classic at any burger joint. The order comes to our bench each item in a separate box with a number on top that matches item number is the itemized receipt. That shows to me again good organization and attention to detail on delivering good customer service. I open the box to my double paddy burger. First thing I notice size it's not massive not is it too small. The bun is puffy with a nice crisp on top but extremely soft and spongy inside. The beef you know is fresh minced meat. Moment you lift the bun you see the cheese and beef juices dripping. The meat is 100 percent halal. So you don't see red blood juice dripping. It's clean beef fat dripping as you press on it. The paddy is done between medium and well done. So it's not over cooked to point the paddy gets super dry. The vegetables fresh nothing frozen. I take my first bite and I feel burst if juice in my mouth. The soft bun , the pickle , mustard ketchup and finally the beef. Clean beef flavor no complicated seasoning. Simple salt and pepper. They are letting the high quality halal beef do it's magic. I was in burger heaven! Yes this is how every dish should be. Stick to the basics guys. Fresh and good quality ingredients. Keep it simple. If the ingredients fresh and good 75 percent of your work is done. Now just cook it right with right love. I felt the energy and smiles of the staff in the burger. I ate the double paddy burger in four huge bites. I was not satisfied. I had to go for round 2, but my guilt kicked in. So I went for a single paddy same classic cheese...
Read moreIf you want an amazing smash burger, this is the place. The patty is seasoned and grilled to perfection, with plenty of free unlimited toppings (sauces, lettuce, tomato, onion, jalapeño, pickles) and a good selection of upsold toppings (fried mushroom, fried onion, extra cheese, fried egg, guacamole, crispy straps, samosa). I had the double burger and my nephew had a single. The burgers default to cheeseburgers and then you add your additional toppings. We both found the combinations we selected delicious, but we both feel the triple burger is the best way to enjoy to maximize the beef intake (the single is a bit too small). Chicken burger will be sampled/devoured next time. Don't sleep on the milkshakes. Definitely the best shake south of 75th avenue. They offer a decent selection of flavors, from standard fare such as chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry, with special flavors like Kit Kat, Coffee Crisp, and NY Cheesecake to name a few. Thick, but not straw plugging, with a bit of a chocolate syrup flair. So good. Add whip cream for a bit more decadence. Service was friendly, informative, and quick. We lucked out and ordered before a bit of a dinner rush so we didn't have to wait long at all. The customers that came after had to deal with a 20-minute wait, so not bad at all for a blitz of orders. The price was reasonable for a specialty burger, and with sides like onion rings (think Peter's but a bit more robust) and routine, you can't go wrong. The washroom is large (for a one person closet) and most importantly clean. A bit of a hole in the wall feel. Highly, highly recommend. May 30 2025 update: Fried chicken sandwich and tater tots have now been consumed. Fantastic. Coffee Crisp Milkshake leaves a lot to be desired. Stick to the Kit Kat. Still highly,...
Read moreThis place is amazing! We have been a couple of times already and we have enjoyed everything we’ve tried ( I need to go again soon so I can take a picture , I was too excited to document it ...) This is a ‘fast food restaurant’ concept but has nothing to do with big chain burger places. I loved the fresh and energizing decor, it’s a small place but there are a few seatings, that hopefully we will be able to enjoy after the Covid restrictions. The staff is super friendly and attentive. They offer online order and curb side pick up now and it’s very convenient. The menu is of course burgers but with a twist. I was very impressed with the crispy chicken sandwich, the bun, the real full size chicken breast was perfectly cooked, tender on the inside and crispy on the outside but not oily. It comes with a coleslaw topping which I think adds to the uniqueness of the sandwich. The fries were awesome too, crispy and freshly cooked. I have also tried the lettuce wrap burger and I loved it. The patty is made with Alberta beef which is a plus of course. It was well done but not over cooked and it was very tasty. I’ve also tried the onion rings and they did not disappoint. They also offer milkshakes and bubble tea. I have tried the milkshake and I was impressed when my daughter asked if she could have a mix of flavours and they did it gladly. They use real ice cream for the shakes not soft serve. It was really really good. I need to try the bubble teas next time. We are thrilled that this locally owned restaurant has opened in Sundance, we needed a place like this and it shows because they’re always busy. Well done guys! I can’t wait...
