This is my first review and Jaffa Shawarma left me with no choice but to write one... It is an absolute gem of a restaurant! I had the pleasure of dining there over the weekend and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that made us feel right at home. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, and Abdullah went above and beyond to ensure that we had an amazing meal.
The food at Jaffa Shawarma is simply outstanding. Every dish is crafted with the utmost care and attention to detail, resulting in the most flavourful meal. The shawarma wraps were absolutely delicious, filled with tender meat and fresh ingredients that were bursting with flavour. The garlic potatoes were heavenly, and the pickles were a perfect blend of sour and tangy. The fries were crispy and satisfying, and the salad had a wonderful balance of acidity and crunch. The falafel's undoubtably were homemade and it shows in the quality and freshness they offer.
But the true star of the show was the hummus. I have never tasted hummus this good before in my life! The smooth, creamy texture combined with the perfect blend of spices and seasoning created a flavour profile that was absolutely out of this world. And to top it all off, the tea - brought all the way from Palestine by the owner - was as good as it gets.
Overall, I cannot recommend Jaffa Shawarma highly enough. The food, the staff, and service are all top notch, and it's clear that they put their heart and soul into everything they do. If you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience, then look no further than Jaffa Shawarma. Do yourself a favour and go - you won't regret it! I wish I knew about this...
Read moreI think I have to stop believing Google reviews. This 4.9 rating is definitely a lie and a HUGE scam. There is no way this place can have this much of a high rating with such horrible service which is extremely slow and the food is so mediocre and average it is unbelievable.
First of all, I don't understand why the staff were wearing Jerusalem shawarma shirts. Secondly, they stole the name Jaffa from the real Jaffa Shawarma, which is located in NW Calgary and is a million times better than this.
I got a Shawarma and it was breaking and falling apart in the 10-15 minutes we were sitting. Never seen that happen SO quick at any other Shawarma place in the world. The platter presentation was great but it literally took 30 minutes for them to prepare it. Everyone else got their food before that and they were done while the person who ordered the platter was the last one eating. They gave no Pita with the platter, didn't have any small cups to share drinks...gave us tiny Tea cups instead.
The list goes on and on. Never seen a front end cashier area so disorganized in my life.
My advice...go to the real Jaffa in NW Calgary or go to Jimmy's A&A....
Read moreWas a loyal customer for years, But after my last two visits, I won’t be returning. Very unhygienic and tasteless nasty food.
The service has gone downhill, and my most recent experience was completely unacceptable. The hijabi woman making my food showed zero hygiene — torn gloves, careless handling — and started piling on sauces before I could even respond. When I asked for less sauce, she completely ignored me and kept going. But what really disturbed me was her racist attitude. Her tone, body language, and the way she threw ingredients into my wrap made it painfully clear I was being treated differently — and not in a good way.
When I calmly pointed it out, another staff member aggressively jumped in to defend her and accused me of lying. It was a hostile, racially charged encounter that left me shocked and deeply uncomfortable.
Never have I felt so disrespected at a restaurant in Canada. It’s heartbreaking to see a place I once loved become so toxic. Management clearly doesn’t care, and I can’t support a business that allows racism and aggression toward customers. Not to forget the food quality has...
