Went to this place on a Sunday based on the reviews. First there was a male sitting in the car blasting music really loud outside in the parking lot staring at us. He stayed there.
Went inside and the fries and potatoes in the bin premade looked totally greasy. And smelled like old oil. They had just dumped some fries in the container. Noone helped us with the menu as it was our first time there. Salad did not look fresh either. It was over $20 for a plate of a lot of rice, potatoes with a tiny bit of meat or falafel & this is fast food “self service”.
I don’t know how the other experiences could be so different from ours?? The reviews can’t be real !! We left. (I will go back and take photos sometime)
update: feb/2025 a guy below named Nabil left a review saying he got an Oriental breakfast but recommends this place as a great Middle Eastern place to eat. That does not make sense and they do not have plates of food that you order you pick it all from bins of food premade that they fill up I have never seen specific plates like in his pictures or Asian food there. I returned and it was not any different than my first review at the same day at the same time. And I do not see the food in his pictures on their menu anywhere. His name is Middle Eastern as are all the other reviews it is probably friends writing reviews and they get their food served to them at their table whereas I had to pick mine up at the counter. Wahid Abdul got complimentary desserts & tea i could not even get someone to explain the menu!! I will stick with my first opinion after our experience twice now & talking to friends who have gone there too. I will go take some pictures because I...
Read moreI wish I could say better but it’s gone downhill for me with Jerusalem shawarma.
Usually they been great I’ve had good service for years but not the last few experiences. On the menu at the Country Hills Location they list a Regular chicken shawarma for 12.99. The Beef and Chicken Mix is 13.99 .
I have shown a picture of the Beef chicken Mix having very little to any chicken on it. As well as the chicken shawarma beside it. It was Very small portion size for the meat and surprised at that because of the fact it costed more money. I noticed as they were making it he was trying to lay single strand of lettuce the entire length of the shawarma and trying very hard to lay very thin strips of toppings. I’m just surprised seeing this because getting a donair/shawarma used to be pretty heavy and basically fills you for the night and I’m a skinny guy so shouldn’t take much. But I feel that doesn’t apply at Jerusalem shawarma I just always feel the taste and quality is there but not the quantity just not there for the price.
my order: $32.55 total including the tip. So for basically around $16 I paid for a very small donair with a few slivers of chicken and the person I ordered for gets a much bigger chicken shawarma for less money which is what I wanted to begin with and I don’t even get to taste any chicken on mine I usually have good service I think there was a mistake with preparing my order.
*edit - the picture says 12.75 but the prices are actually 12.99.
Been giving this place a chance but unfortunately I will be trying to find a new donair shawarma spot. Hope it’s a better experience if I have to return but I will be trying another location if I...
Read moreUPDATE: I talked with the manager he told me from their side there was nothing wrong about the food allergy!!!! Which does not make sense for me! And he refused to explain about the sandwiches, which had only tomato and lettuce!!! Asked him many times but did not get any response from him!!!!! “Awful experience each time! We like Jerusalem but this branch is awful!!! I gave them many chances because it is the only one close to my location, but they disappointed me each time! EVERY time I had different donair sandwich, it is not the same taste each time! They select vegetables randomly and the amount is not consistent, we usually order online, today I ordered in the store, I was THERE!!!! They did not ask me what I want to add in my sandwiches!!! They called me and gave me ready sandwiches!!! I came home and it was so bad!!! Only lettuce and tomato in both sandwiches!!!! There is more, I told the staff that my daughter has food allergy and asked about ingredients and they told me it is safe for her!told them even not cross contaminated for her food, my daughter’s food was ready without checking with me how to prepare and put in the box!!!! Something was cross contaminated and my daughter had skin reactions!!!! Thank God it was not anaphylactic!!!! When it comes to food allergy, it is someone’s LIFE, forget making more money and simply say “no sorry, it’s better to avoid” if you are not sure! Even one star is too much for this branch and the staff!!!!!!!!! Not...
