I'm not one to rant passionately with bias, so here's the facts in order of occurrence:
-Generally unclean with an absurd number of flies. Not just 1-3, but a swarm. -The "regulars" were obnoxious, abrasive, foul, drunk, and shouting to each other over music that didn't exist at 7pm on a Tuesday. -The owner, appearing sober, was louder and more irritating than said "regulars." -My bottled beer was barely above room temperature. Didn't order another. -Switched to ginger ale, which the manager tried to take away when it was a third full. Was later charged for a pop refill for the first time in my life. -The wings were the worst I've had in over 15 years of attending many, many wing nights. -The butter chicken pizza was flavourless, except for three bites on one slice that indicated what the dish was probably supposed to taste like. -The manager on duty kept trying to take food and drinks away that we were still working on. -Somebody either puked or blew their nose on one of the urinals. I didn't look long enough to determine which. -I know I'm forgetting more, but this is sufficient to justify 1 star.
The only positive was our server, Angela. She was prompt, attentive, kind, understanding, didn't miss a thing on her end, and even continued to check on us after we settled the bill and watched the rest of the Flames game. She deserves better.
I've never left a 1 star review before because I believe a business and it's owner shouldn't suffer due to the actions of its staff and clientele. However, when the owner is present and behaving as poorly as the most intoxicated customers, the gloves come off. I wouldn't recommend Juliet's Castle to anyone unless I felt like trolling...
Read moreBeen going to Juliets Castle for a few years now. Generally always a great experience. Good food, good prices good staff. However, our most recent experience was anything but that. The food was good although the pita chips were baked a little to much with the spinach dip. No worries...I can give a mulligan on that one. As for the service...not good. Not good at all. Ordered wings and ranch dip as well as fish and chips...and the spinach dip. No ranch dip came...although added to the bill... no napkins, no condiments. Our server only checked on us every 25 minutes or so and never once asked us if everything was good. Not very friendly and seemed kind of annoyed when we asked for something. Then she seemingly abandoned us so I had to go to the bar to pay the tab. Needless to say, I gave no tip. She quite frankly didn't deserve one. I would honestly have to go back probably more than 15 years to think of a time when i experienced service that bad anywhere. And it wasn't even busy. There are 100s of places in this city where one can go to enjoy their hard earned money. If a manager reads this....please think about that for a moment. I'm not going to name drop. I won't have to. You know who your staff is. It just takes one fly to ruin the ointment. I will...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Juliet’s Castle, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The ambiance is just right—cozy yet sophisticated—making it a perfect spot for a fun night out with friends.
The wings are really top-notch. I tried the Tandoori wings, and they were incredible—cooked to perfection with flavors that were rich and full of depth.
The bar is another standout at Juliet’s Castle. The cocktail list is impressive, with a great mix of timeless classics and unique, handcrafted drinks. They also offer some excellent non-alcoholic options, which is a nice touch.
A special shoutout to Angela, Amanda, and Destiny—they clearly know their craft. Every drink was meticulously prepared and beautifully presented.
The service was top-notch throughout the evening. The staff were attentive without hovering, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely friendly, which really added to the overall warmth of the experience. Oh, and they have Shisha too—what a treat!
Overall, Juliet’s Castle is a real gem. Whether you’re in the mood for a neighbourhood bar experience or just a great place to enjoy a few drinks, this spot delivers on all fronts. I’m already looking forward to...
