Kiro Sushi is located on 130 Ave South East Calgary. It’s a small sushi restaurant in the local community. It provided both order menu and all you can eat menu to customers. People can eat in and take out food from the restaurant. My boyfriend and I went to Kiro Sushi on this Friday after the work. We had a nice dinner there. Food: After looked at the order menu, we decided to have all you can eat at Kiro Sushi instead of order dishes. We had two special rolls, sashimi, appetizer, salad and Udon. All the food came out the kitchen in order. They were all fresh and well cooked. The taste of the food was decent. The special rolls were awesome. The taste of them was much better than other sushi restaurants we have eaten in Calgary. Appetizer Takoyaki balls were OK. The taste more likely like frozen balls warmed up from the microwave. We liked miso soup. The miso soup was fresh, warm and lots of seasoning stuffs inside. It was very tasty. Sashimis were in the small slices. I was so glad we had All you can eat. Service: The servers were very nice and friendly. After we sat down in the restaurant, the server came to our table and brought both menus to us. Also, the server brought the tea and water to us. Environment: Kiro Sushi is a small sushi restaurant. Inside the restaurant is very tidy and clean. We arrived the restaurant at 5 pm when the restaurant just opened. The restaurant was not busy at all. After few minutes, we could see that there are lots of people order food to go. About 6 or 7 pm, more and more people came to this restaurant and ate in the restaurant. Prices: The prices of the food were a little bit expensive compared to most the sushi restaurants in Vancouver. The all you can eat is around $30 per person. Two of us spent $70 for the dinner. If you are a big eater, I strongly suggest you order all you can eat. In summary, we had a very good experience at Kiro Sushi. Recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Was craving a lot of sushi and fish but didn't wanna go too far for it, so stopped off at Kiro sushi ayce buffet for lunch. They have lunch and dinner options ($28 or $38/pp respectively) but only the dinner had sashimi and a few other sushi available so I picked dinner. They don't have paper ordering, you have to scan a QR code which takes you to a website to order from. It's more efficient this way although not everyone will have a phone that's QR compatible. The range of menu isn't too bad, but felt a little repetitive in terms of the fillings used, e.g. salmon maki, salmon nigiri, salmon hand roll. For the price paid the variety could've been a little better to include other ingredients. They do have some hot foods available too like udon etc. Quality was ok overall for the freshness of the fish and overall food. I did find shrimp shell still on in the tempura shrimp roll. Their sashimi is sliced very thick, at least 2-3 times the regular size at other restaurants. I love this as it means I won't have to order as many times to get my fill. The "crabmeat" is really surimi (imitation crab meat) and not real crab, which was a bit disappointing. I will say the service overall is great though, and they have high chairs available for kids too. For the price it's ok given the quality but not the best I've had sadly. I hope they'll take the feedback on board and improve as most ayce sushi places are average to mediocre in quality in Calgary.

First visit: Pretty impressive! I’ve been to many AYCE sushi places in the City, and back home where I am from they are very popular, and I would say that this place ranks in the top 3! We had the lunch menu AYCE. The fried appetizers (gyoza, spring roll, dumplings) were small, but we like that as we don’t love to fill up too much on that type of stuff. The green salad was refreshing and I loved the ginger dressing (a little more like a vinaigrette compared to other places). We had some assorted sushi as well; it was mostly fresh but not melt-in-your-mouth fresh, but we wouldn’t really expect that of an AYCE menu anyway. The Maki rolls were great – we had the Rapture Roll, Yam Special (nice crunch added on top), Mango Roll (our favourite), spicy crunch salon/tuna, and the Vegetable roll. The rolls aren’t made with a ton of rice, so we did find that they fell apart more, however we really liked not filling up on a ton of rice compared to other AYCE places, so this was also a plus for us. The only negative is that we arrived at 1:59pm for lunch and were told that last call was 2:00pm for the lunch menu. I was confused because at all AYCE places I have been to before, general rule is that they stop serving lunch at 3:00pm with a cut off to put in an order varying from 2:30 – 2:50 pm. To stop serving lunch/allowing orders in at 2:00pm seemed pretty early to us, as you would then have to order dinner for $10 more a person around 2:00pm which is no where near dinner time. We did check on this beforehand and based on the recent reviews they said they stop serving AYCE lunch at 3:00pm and that there was no pressure to buy the dinner menu, however to be fair we couldn’t find this same info on Kiro’s website and we didn’t call ahead. The waiter did initially tell us we had to order the dinner menu, however he then allowed us to place one order at the lunch menu rate, and we had our fill without being too full. He was very friendly and attentive. I took off 1-star from what would be a 5-star review for AYCE as I think a cut off time for 2:00pm is just too early to start charging for dinner. Overall, we will be back, just before 2:00pm!

Second visit: Came back around Xmas time with my Dad. It was busy inside in terms of all tables were full, they have I believe 13 to 15 tables, no line up at the door. Two take-out orders came in while we were there. We placed our order, took about 20 mins for water and an appetizer to come out. Took about another 25-30 mins for the rest of the food to come out slowly, so 50 mins. We were happy to wait for good good, however we did not place another order because we didn't want to wait again so long. That being said, the food again was awesome - probably the best and biggest pieces of sashimi we all had ever had - the spicy tuna sashimi was a star for us. The rolls were a bit bigger than our first visit. We needed more wasabi and drink refills an hour in, used the table buzzer twice but no one came. Flagged a waiter down, also had to flag them down for the bill. Bill was incorrect, had to flag them down again. Service was lacking this time around but...

The worst stuff ever & the worst experience ever! If I could give them negative stars, I would do it !!! This is my second time to deal with this restaurant, my first time was an online order & it was totally messy. I decided to give them a second chance & it was today, but I hoped I didn't!!! I was there between 8.30 to 9 pm with my 3 kids I was totally shocked because of the way they treated me, just because my 2 years old toddler boy was crying for 5 mins (the first 5 mins I entered the restaurant) They are not kids friendly at all!! The waiter told me clearly that I need to make him stop crying or otherwise I have to go out of the restaurant! In only 5 mins, 3 waiters came to me to ask for the same request & check what's wrong with him!!! When I tried to calm him down & go out, the same waiter came again & said ok he's not listening to you, so you have to carry him because we have other customers & you know we care about other customers too! I'm really shocked how they treated me like that, is it because I wear a veil (hijab), how can you wait for people to come to your place if you dunno how to treat them politely ??!!!! My kid was shocked as well that he prepared himself to eat & drink as he was hungry, and out of a sudden we were out the restaurant!! He kept crying like never before! This is my last time at this place but I promise this msg won't stop here!! I need a serious action from the owner of this place, otherwise I will take it to a...
