A little context first...this is a place I remember seeing tucked away in the same corner of the same strip mall from when I was kid. I've probably driven by this place a million times, never stopped in. My first visit was a pleasant experience. This place is the portrait of a neighborhood dive pub. The atmosphere is dated, yes. The neighborhood has grown into something very different than I remember as a kid. But this place exudes a certain charm. There are the regulars seated at the bar or hunched over the VLT's. The wait staff is great...friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Tuesday night is schooner and wing night, a great combination! The dry Greek wings were, admittedly, surprisingly good as I didn't know what to expect...only after trying them, did I wish I had ordered the burger special, as I was wanting to try more of what this little gem could offer. At the end of the day, I only arrived at La-Zee-Za at the recommendation of a friend. I saw enough that I want to return for a live music night, and to explore more of the menu. Places like this aren't common, and they're worth every penny when...
Read moreWe ordered 2 pizzas through Skip from LaZeeZa. They only provided the driver with one pizza, and when I phoned to advise them of the error, the overall response was "ok, so..." which is unacceptable. When asked how long it would take to deliver the second pizza ordered, I was told "20 minutes, ok". The second pizza failed to come and after 46 minutes I phoned the restaurant again. This time I'm told sternly that the second driver couldn't find our address. No one called to tell us. We waited another 20 minutes and a driver arrives with a cold pizza. He informed me that the restaurant gave him the incorrect address and this was the reason for the delay. The restaurant not only blamed skip for the issues but refused to compensate or refund, and told us to call skip. If you make an error, you correct it and do it politely. You don't pass blame and you don't push your frustration on the paying customer. This has happened before with this particular establishment and I've learned my lesson. Forewarned for whomever may have a similar experience... it likely is just common practice for this restaurant...
Read moreThe night that I went here for Karaoke on a Saturday , the waitress was professional but she was not all that friendly, when I asked her if the pop was free refills? - she didn't really give me an answer, and just told me that "she will give it to me this time".
However, she did advise that the perogie special was only applicable if it was combined with a drink order and she was kind enough to let my friend have the perogies special.
The perogies were amazing ! Kudos to your chef!! - 2 rounds already filled me up - but truthfully I couldn't really even finish that much!
Karaoke here is more country, pop / rock - well that was the genre and my friend and I were the only Asian people that I saw at this bar during my time of...
