I was there between 6:25 am - 6:40 am, February 22, 2019. I ordered an egg and bacon bagel meal and waited for about 6-7 minutes (Acceptable waiting time). The cashier was pleasant to talk to and was very nice. while I was waiting for my order, I was standing adjacent to the food preparing section. I can't help but notice how the worker prepared the food. This female worker, probably in her late 30s or 40s, not quite sure of her ethnicity, I'm guessing Indian/Pakistani was preparing different types of breakfast meal (bagels, mcmuffin, etc) was handling the sandwiches with BARE HANDS! NO GLOVES WHATSOEVER. I was hesitant to report her right away as most of the workers in the store are of the same ethnicity (I was guessing there would be little to no action done if I did report her) I am writing this review to let everyone know that based from what I saw, food preparation in this particular fast food chain is disgusting! I'm not eating my bagel and I'm throwing it away for this reason.
When I checked the vicinity there are at least 3 cameras closely angled to where the food preparation area is. as a matter of fact there is one camera very close to the food prep area. If the store or any McDonald rep sees this review, please double check the video recording. There you can see how unsanitary the worker prepared all the food. This practice is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE! no costumer deserve this kind of service!
I am a nurse and a First aid instructor and therefor health and sanitary practices/precaution is important to me. McDonalds don't you ever train your staff on how to handle food safely? don't they take Food Safety courses? like seriously this is so disturbing to know that some of your employees don't practice proper food...
Read moreI would not recommend this McDonald's based upon my observations and interactions with the staff. There are many other McDonald's worthy of your hard earned money. This McDonald's does not honour free refills of your coffee. When I asked why, the employee said with a smile, "we have too many homeless people who buy a coffee and spending too much time taking up space in the restaurant. So we don't honour free refills for any customer. There are also Calgary police signs around the restaurant indicating some kind of partnership and signs that limit your time to 30 minutes or you're considered to be trespassing. One night I was the only person there other than a couple eating a large meal. We were closed in to 1/4 size of the restaurant space, the rest was blocked off. The washroom doors were all left open so that there was no privacy. I watched as a manager said rudely to the couple, we are closing in 15 minutes so make sure you're out of here by then. They said they would be. It's possible these two were homeless but I am unsure. The employee didn't say anything to me. Picking on customers who may be homeless when they aren't breaking rules and simply eating is prejudicial, unwarranted, and unprofessional. These people had paid for meals and paying their salary. Treating homeless people like second class citizens dehumanizes them, and only makes those who do look like second class human beings. I've been to many other McDonald's where employees were clearly told to treat everyone with respect. This is why I believe potential visitors should spend their...
Read moreI am writing to express my disappointment regarding a recent experience at this location.
On Friday, April 11, 2025, I received the wrong order from your store. I do not live nearby, but I called as soon as I noticed the mistake, around 9:25 PM. The person I spoke with on the phone was very helpful and assured me that I could come back at my convenience and my order would be replaced.
However, when I visited today (April 17), I was met with incredibly poor treatment from a supervisor named Evelyn. Despite explaining the situation, I was made to wait for nearly 10 minutes, and she still refused to replace the order. I was treated rudely and unfairly, which ruined the start of my weekend. Eventually, I ended up buying another meal because I simply didn’t have the energy to argue further.
It’s disheartening to see someone in a supervisory role show such a lack of empathy and professionalism. I kindly request that you check the schedule for April 11 around 9:25 PM to identify the staff member who took my call—I truly appreciate how she handled the situation, unlike what I experienced today.
I hope Evelyn reflects on the way she treated a customer who was simply asking for a mistake to be made right. I’m sharing this not just for myself but in the hope that your team receives proper guidance on how to treat customers with respect...
