Super excited to come back here after a long break. This was a frequent local watering hole when it was Riverstone. It looks really good inside and the atmosphere is even better now as Moose's. Honestly wasn't even too disappointed in the relatively high prices as these are tough times and I want to support local. Food was delicious and good portion size.
Unfortunately the whole experience was marred by our server who came to our table at 5:55 and proceeded to tell us the specials and then we ordered drinks since it was happy hour until 6pm. The waitress looks at her watch and it literally turns 6:00 as she looks at her wrist and she says sorry, she can't give us the happy hour special anymore, despite coming to our table well before 6pm. Really disheartened by the blood-contract happy hour fascism displayed here. I am coming in, supporting your local, even paying above average prices for the food/experience and you can't give me an extra minute for 1 happy hour beer? It isn't even the money as I was only saving a couple bucks, just the attitude and lack of consideration was cold, distasteful and very unfriendly. Riverstone was much more of a friendly, family, happy you are here atmosphere and it is unfortunate that Moose's policies aren't as amenable. Pretty disappointing to say the least and left the bar feeling like the good ol days do not live...
Read moreBeen here 3 times now. Food is pretty good, service isn’t too bad, but what prompted me to finally leave a review is two-fold: first of all, I got a pizza with a side of ranch. Ate half the pizza and used all of the ranch so asked for a box with another side of ranch to go because it was homemade and very good. But when I got the bill I saw they charged me SIX DOLLARS for two small ranch dips!! Absolutely criminal. Should be a maximum of $2 per dip. And the second reason is after we paid the bill, we didn’t see our server again for 45 minutes and we were all super thirsty and wanted dessert, but no one ever came back to our table. In future I won’t ever pay the bill until I am ready to leave, because not being served after the bill is paid is really bad service, and really made me regret the $25 tip that I left. For that kind of money I expect to still get served water after I’ve paid the bill. If I’m still sitting at the table, then I still expect service. That’s serving 101.
Side note: the Monday 1/2 apps is a good special, but they only have about half of the apps available for the special which is pretty limited. Also, their Tuesday wing special isn’t actually special at all. It’s $9 for a pound which is basically $1 a wing. Not a good wing...
Read moreFood was ok. I ordered the Beef Dip and fries. The fries were really good but not thrilled that I had to pay $1 extra for mayo. I had an ice tea and the cup was 50-70% full of ice so of course I had a refill and the charge $1 extra for that too. I was the only customer in the place at 11:30 on a Saturday and the first 15 min the TVs were not on. Finally they put one on and instead of asking what the customer preferred they just put on golf. The waitress wasn’t very attentive. I probably won’t go back. I understand that restaurants are hurting and I would love to support them but I also don’t like to be nickeled and dimed. If you want to charge $18 for a beef dip with the condiments then just charge $18 but to up charge for every little thing you lost a customer. Oh yeah and they have programmed the payment machine for min 16% tip unless you go in and re enter what you want to tip. Gave a 2 star for the fries and the food came out quickly. Two thumbs up to the...
