Mr.Schnapps Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Calgary

Ordered a NY Steak 12oz ... with the Crab meat, Asparagus and Hollandaise sause (Oscar style) Mashed potatoes and Vegetables, sauteed Mushrooms and onions with garlic toast. Disappointment and where to start??? Medium rare ... no matter where you go, is medium rare. The server, very plesant guy, offered to take it back, in all fairness, yet the further I got into the steak, the more rare it was ... to the the point of being raw ... blue rare. Did'nt care that the crab was canned ... we are land locked in Calgary, however had a brownish tint to it ... boiled Asparagus? and the hollandaise sause? Cold. Assorted vegetables were boiled. Mashed potatoes? Precooked and clumped and hard. The sauteed mushrooms were plentiful and good, the onions were scare and burnt. Pity I did'nt take pictures. The saving grace to give this 3 stars, was 1. Glass of iced water and a twist of lemon, without asking for one. The cold crisp Ginger ale I ordered The soup ... Tomatoe Vegetable. Other than that, 😳🤯 Meal done in a short order manner, not by a Chef. May not like him, yet Gordon Ramsey (I think he is awesome) has raised an awareness in people for eating good food and as I said ... Disappointing for the Price point ... would have been better off in a "real" steak house when I was considering steak. Not like the Lux in Edmonton ... they were pathetic ... and in Edmonton. Sorry if I won't do dinner...

This place is hit or miss. Went in to eat the other day and ordered a pizza. Pizza came out and had little sauce, the meat looked like it came out of a sandwich meat bag and it was so soggy. Waited 30 mins for food to come out when we the only ones in the place.

Waitress on shift although very nice wasn't that great. Empty cups sat waiting for refill for 20 minutes she walked past twice and didnt hear me say excuse me....even though she was right beside us. She then sat with another waitress and had a pretty inappropriate discussion of partying and hookups that we totally over heard and if my 3 daughter's were with me I would have asked for a manager because of the content of convo. All in all it was a bad experience this time around and probably won't be back. It's not like it was a few years ago...

Seating ourselves was the best part of our visist. Took a few minutes for anyone to notice us and another set of people. After finally ordering 10 minutes later and emphasized how I wanted my steak the supposed AAA 10 OZ prime chefs special with mashed potatoes . Well I got my order approximately 15 minutes there was gravy on my potatoes my steak was not done at all to my satisfaction setting aside the fact it was 35-40% fat. Over hearing the other tables concerns and what was said to them I just nibbled on it to she at least came to check on us. Which never happened, meaning the next we saw her was when she had our bill in her hands , wow Than when told about the good we got well our mashed always has gravy and that was all. Horrible food ,horrible service ,will not recommend this location...
