Went here yesterday around 6:30 p.m. We ordered our food and everything was good and sat down to eat. After about half way through eating our food some guy comes in and is arguing with a cashier. The customer turns around and tells us that an hour ago he found a maggot in his calamari and he was being refused a refund. After more arguing and a call to the manager he did get a refund. I’m giving 3 - stars because I feel the business deserves the benefit of the doubt as I am not sure whether it was live or not. It could’ve just been a quality control issue with the calamari manufacturer. Thankfully I had the falafel pita and before I knew about said maggot issue, everything tasted good. Just didn’t appreciate how the cashier was so adamant on not giving the man his refund as I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t like any sort of organisms in his food that aren’t supposed to be there. Honestly, pretty grossed out by the whole thing and I probably won’t be back to...
Read moreOpa! Greek Shepard Plaza is a small fast food restaurant in Canada. It opened 20 years ago and there are so many locations in Canada right now. OPA has combined fresh Mediterranean cuisine with its friendly customer services.
Last weekend, my boyfriend and I had a lunch at OPA! Greek in McKenzie Town. The OPA! is located at 130 Ave SE, Calgary. This location is very small and hard to find. It has parking spaces, but they are not very easy for parking. We arrived the restaurant when it just opened. So, it was not busy. I ordered LAMB OPA PLATTER and my boyfriend had LAMB PITA WRAP. Since OPA is the quick service restaurant, after the server took the orders, the cook made both dishes in front of us. Then, we brought our food to the table. Our food was in the large portions, fresh and well cooked. The taste of the food was very delicious and tasty. I love my meal. The prices of the two dish were around $25 include the tax, which...
Read moreWent there today (February 01/20) ordered our food only to find out they only have one frier for French fries and seafood. Didn't realize this when I ordered the kids meal with fries until I saw them cook calamari in the same frier. My daughter is allergic to seafood so had to cancel the fries. The guy cooking also placed a number of raw chicken skewers on the grill without gloves and didn't properly wash his hands afterward. He just quickly placed his hands under running water for a few seconds and dried them off and continued to handle other foods. Thy really need to place a sign notifying customers of the frier being used for seafood as well as other items being cooked in the same frier to avoid allergy issues. Staff also need to be trained better on the importance of using gloves when handling raw chicken and other foods. Very doubtful if I would return or recommend...
