Peanuts Public House — Restaurant in Calgary

Worst experience ive EVER had at a pub/restaurant and the staff should be FIRED. Me and a friend stayed in the hotel and we went down around 7 for just a simple cocktail. Walked in to 3 of the staff yelling and swearing at eachother and another staff member sitting down having drinks (not sure if she was on shift or not) Got seated by the one employee and she handed us off to another employee saying she didnt want to serve us. Me and my friend took about 2 minutes to decide on a drink that was clearly on the menu and told our server. She immediately ran behind the bar and proceeded to YELL “Do any of you guys know how to make this (f word) drink? Nobody ever (f word) orders those!! Like who do they think they are coming in here and ordering a cocktail like this isnt just a neighborhood bar you cant just come here and order whatever.” Then proceeded to talk about us some more while we were sitting there talking amongst ourselves. (I was ready to get up and leave at this point but stayed anyway) Then when she gave us our drinks it wasnt even made properly and had the wrong ingredients. I mean if you’re an employee there you should know whats on your menu and how to make them and not be so disrespectful and rude to a paying customer. While we were trying to drink the employees continued yelling and swearing at each other from across the bar. They also all were wearing their masks under their chin and not being sanitary AT ALL. I overheard them say ‘its too hot and sweaty to wear them’ Also no hand washing happening and disregard for everyone else's health. I overheard the one employee sitting down yell to everyone ‘This is our workplace we can do whatever we damn want dont worry about us’ while proceeding to have shots WITH the employees THAT ARE ON SHIFT. That is so unnecessary and unprofessional while serving customers, i dont care if its your ‘workplace.’ They even yelled at the cook and were treating him badly. I reported this experience to the food and beverage manager. So to make a long story short, i don’t recommend this place to anyone. If you want good service and good drinks spend your money and time elsewhere. Perhaps get new staff members that aren’t disrespectful, know the menu, dont drink on the job and management should be closely looking at what the staff is doing when...

My daughter and I stopped in for a bite at the Peanuts Pub in the Carriage House Inn. It was a very busy place for a Sunday afternoon. But I guess one of the girls who worked there was having a baby shower. Happy times!! We ordered the sharing platter which included chicken wings, chicken tenders, nachos and fries. We dove into the fries immediately. They were hot and crispy McDonald’s like fries. Next, I hit the nachos. I really liked that there wasn’t heaping mounds of them; just a good amount but every chip had cheese on it. And there were lots of jalapeños and onions and tomatoes as a topping as well. The chicken tenders were really good too. But there was only two of them; well, there was three but one was so small it really wasn’t a whole tender. The wings they were also small and they were kind of dry. Once we asked for some ranch dip it made them a little bit better. The platter came with some small containers of salsa, sour cream and plum sauce. When we asked the waitress if we could have more, she happily brought back a large quantity of each. I reached out to management from the "contact us" part of their website and didn't receive a response so maybe this will. I was there Saturday November 14 at 2:00 and the girl responsible for checking Vax cards as mandated by the government was poor at best. She did check us and I asked if she had a QR reader she said "ugh, just show it to me " like does she have a reader built into her eyes? So I produced the proper papers and ID and we found a place to sit. She returned to sitting at the bar with her boyfriend? And drinks. We were there until 5 and I estimate she checked less than half the people that came in during that time. All the while sitting at the bar drinking. She would not be working for me. The beer was cold and we only had wings to eat and they were average so that was all acceptable.
