Pho 501 — Restaurant in Calgary

Was excited to eat some pho for dinner tonight that my kind boyfriend had ordered me from out of town through skip the dishes. This is what arrived. I’ve never been more turned off of pho I don’t think I’ll be able to eat it again. It arrived cold and huge unedible chunks of hard beef already in the broth with the noodles on the side ? How can you even reheat that? The beef was already plastic from sitting in the broth for over 50 minutes and there’s no way reheat it if they’ve already assembled it for you less the slimy noodles on the side. It’s not even skips fault in this case because the restaurant packaged it. Not to mention sloppy, leaking all down the side, I didn’t even have any and this is how it arrived . Unfortunately they closed before I could call back for a refund or re order dinner. Looks like they just dumped the bottom of the barrel in the container and closed up shop for the night. This is the worst pho I’ve ever seen or smelled. I’m not sure who or what packaged that up to go and thought yeah that looks great. Big fail. First and last...

Went to this restaurant last weekend for lunch. We only had one hour for lunch as myself and a friend were in Calgary completing a course. I went to the bathroom and it was absolutely disgusting. The smell was horrible, the cleanliness of the bathroom was also disgusting. We waited 45 minutes just to get our food. Keep in mind, we only had one hour for lunch AND we are the only ones in the restaurant at this time. Maybe 2 skip the dishes orders but still, 45 minutes to bring out our food. The food wasn't even that good. We had to pretty much inhale the food as it took so long to come out. While waiting for our food, we noticed that the entire place was a mess. Food residue all over the blinds, floors, napkin holder. Even our water glasses were dirty. I will not be going back to this place. Long waiting times, filthy environment and bad service. The next day we went to Denny's for lunch, it was packed and we got our food within 25 minutes of ordering...maybe even less. Do better....

The vibe here is typical of a Vietnamese restaurant: nothing extravagant and the service is fine but nothing to write home about; however, the pho and bun are one of my favorite in the city. I would be beyond disappointed if they ever closed their doors. You must try their pho satē and bũn dishes.

Update May '24: I haven't been here in over a year due to incredibly poor customer service. When my vietnamese coffee on ice came out chunky I brought it up to my server and they argued that it's okay it just does that sometimes. No offer to remake it even though the one that a friend had across from me was not chunky at all. For being an incredibly loyal and consistent customer for years I'm sad to say that they have lost my business. Feel free to gove them a try but dont expect any customer service. They still make great food but don't ever complain as it will only fall...
