Used to be a frequent visitor of this establishment. Went in recently as I haven’t been there in a while and to my dismay they increased their prices, watered down the broth, and started using more noodles so they could use less broth in their pho. I can get by increasing the price, but tanking the quality of the soup just to save a few cents at the expense of their customers loyalty is just viscerally sickening. The end times are coming, this level of greed was predicted in Revelation 18:11-13. Not surprised that they’ve taken the culinary mark of the beast by betraying their loyal customers by destroying their signature sweet broth. Came in expecting a sweet taste on my tongue and left with the taste of human depravity tainting my tounge from their heinous watered down water. The ladle used to pour the soup into the bowl was the serpents tongue, whispering false promises of financial prosperity into the chefs ears as he poured lies into the bowl. After it was served to me, I eagerly tried the broth expecting sweetness but all I felt was Judas’ kiss as the soup spoon came into contact with my lips. What was once simmered with joy and love is now a pathetic pool of shareholder satisfaction, stretched so thin that that the spirit of the dish snapped. The bowl served as a sarcophagus, beautiful on the outside and full of rot, deterioration, and misery on the inside. Depressing, capitalism was doomed to fail the moment connivance got its...
Read moreI stopped here for some pho to warm the bones on a cold day and enjoyed it thoroughly. This area is well served for pho but this is a welcome addition.
The broth was an excellent Hanoi style broth with good depth and complexity. To me it seemed similar to Van Son's in quality, which I mean as a compliment. I finished it all which I don't always do.
The greens served were fresh and of good quality, with an excellent and very juicy lime slice. The portion sizes were good as were the meat and seafood features of the pho special. Reasonably priced as well, comparable to other options nearby.
I also had a vietnamese coffee which I thought was excellent and handmade as opposed to from a mix.
The ambience was nice, it is spacious and clean inside. It would work well for a group gathering, especially for a work lunch or meeting. Service was attentive, fast, and friendly.
While there are a bunch of good pho options 1-2 blocks south of 16th, Pho Han is quite well located and is easily walkable from mount pleasant or tuxedo park, being just next to a major crosswalk at 20th and centre and several bus stops including two 300 series routes. If you wanted to amble over to Lina's for dessert afterwards it's basically kitty corner from Pho Han.
I daresay this might become a neighbourhood go to by virtue of its quality, ambience, and location. A very welcome addition to north...
Read moreUpdate on Aug 2023: We visited the restaurant for lunch. I tried their bun Bo hue, the soup was very light and flavor was light as well. I personally like bun Bo hue to be more aromatic and spicy, it came with good amount of meat which I liked it. I also tried salad rolls, they were freshly made and really delicious. I also tried satay pho, the satay one is also pretty light in flavor.
Service was friendly and quick, price was so reasonable and potion was big. I had good experience, will come back again!
Ordered delivery for the first time, the best thing about this place is that they are generous with toppings. My pho came with a lot of meat, I loved it! The broth was very light, savory and delicious. The amount of noodle was a bit small compare to other pho restaurants, soup also came in smaller containers. Their noodle came in flat styrofoam container and the boxes were on the bottom of the bag. Because of that, boxes were crushed, soup was leaked and spilled all over the box. This is not necessary restaurant’s fault, but they may want to start placing the soup container on the bottom, noodle boxes on the top. Just an improvement idea for the business. I’d definitely come back and try eat...
