Read moreToday, a co-worker told me about this new place on Center St. NW. Called Spice and Aroma. It's almost like a hot pot, but they cook it for you in their spicy savory broth. You can pick the heat level. I decided to try mild, and it was perfect, just a little heat. You first grab a clear bowl and tong and pick the two choices of meat beef or lamb. Then pick any seafood from soft shell crab, shrimp, clam, baby Octopus, squid, choices of mushrooms. Many noodle choices from hand pulled to udon, choices of tofu, beancurds, fishballs, beefball, spam, sausages, shrimp paste, and many choices of veggies. They have beef tendons, tripe. Sweet potato noodles, seaweed, kelp, fish, and fish noodles. They have different broths to choose from. This is a great place for vegetarians and vegans....BUT....There is cross contamination, customers use one tong and they grab what they want, the tongs are touching the meat and seafood juices and touching noodles and veggies. If that does not bother you, it's a place to go. I'm not sure if cooking it in a very, very hot broth will be a deciding factor. Cause the food temperature is HOT! The broth was very good, and they also dry mix (no broth). It would be amazing if they had a nice sauce station, cause it seriously is a hot pot. My meal was served in a gold pot. This place is pretty busy and very limited seating. If you like noodle soups and hot pot. You have to check it out. Note: This place charges by weight. So, my first bowl was a mixture of ingredients. The dry mix I took home was with a few soft shell crabs, and the price was the same, about $35. I am, however, very full and...

today was the second time i’ve been here. i came here last time with a friend of mine, and it left us a good impression because the food felt really delicious and the soup was not that oily but it was good.
HOWEVER, when i came here today, i decided that i will NEVER come back here. first of all everything was good, me and my bf we got everything we wanted, paid, and waited for our food. when the food was here, it looked amazing as last time, however when i was mixing the peanut sauce, i realized there was a strand of hair. FYI i already tried the soup that had hair in it, and that made me feel so disgusted. we went to the front for a refund, and they asked me to grab a new bowl again. this was so annoying because i forgot what i had in the before, and while i was eating the second bowl, i realized i forgot alot of the ingredients that i wanted to try, as i felt rushed to grab the new ingredients. they didn’t charge me for the new bowl.
HOWEVER, when i was eating, let me tell you my eye sight is really good, and im sensitive when it comes to things that are in my food where it’s not supposed to be. i found a BUG. it’s really tiny so at first i thought it was the black sesame seed, however when i placed it on the tip of my chopstick and took a clear picture for proof, i realized it was a bug.
FYI, i had my hair tied because i was eating duh so it is NOT mine, and my hair...
