OK here’s a new one for you I visit this restaurant fairly regularly, let’s say once or twice a month. Not always this location, but frequently. Tonight I was a bit hungry as I skipped dinner so I thought I would pop in and grab an order of butterfly shrimp as they are quite tasty. I placed my order and was immediately told I would have to wait 7 to 10 minutes. I said that was fine I prefer having fresh food so no problem. The girl told me to wait in the parking lot said she would bring it to me. I waited about 10 minutes and sure enough she came with my food. At no time did she ask which dipping sauce I would like, I prefer a Ranch over the spicy Cajun cocktail sauce as I find it very spicy. I asked for the ranch and the girl told me she had other orders and I would have to come back through the drive-through and get it myself. Not the greatest in customer service but no big deal so I drove through the drive-through for a second time. I got up to the window and reached out to grab my one packet of ranch dip and was told I would have to pay for it ??? Seriously? She wanted me to give her my credit card again. To charge me $.37 for a second dip with my food? Is this place seriously that cheap That they have to charge for every extra dip? I honestly thought she was joking at first but no she was serious. So I was about to dig out my credit card for my $.37 purchase and the lady said give me back the cocktail sauce and you can have this one. She literally wanted me to dig around in the bag and find the other sauce and give it back. I thought there was a rule about taking food back from a customer to be resold again but I guess that doesn’t apply here. I found the cocktail sauce and made the trade for the desired ranch dip at long last.
So yes, the fried chicken here is pretty good. Better than KFC I would say. However, should you want an extra thing of dip or sauce be prepared to ante up. And there’s no guarantee you’re getting something that wasn’t served to another customer and given back.
Like how cheap can a place be? I think I’ll go to...

I decided to give Popeyes another chance, and I'm glad I did.
The night manager working this night was the same manager from my previous review. This time I felt he excelled at his job! Attentive, friendly and prompt. I was there with 2 friends. So we ordered the tailgating bundle. It was perfect! The flavours we chose were amazing, the amount of food was perfect and the time it took from ordering to eating was minimal. The restaurant was clean, and cozy.
I'm glad we chose there. It was a good time.
Food was great. I had boneless chicken. Yum. The time it took to get, about 8 mins...too long. I tried to order on my app, because I had free chicken from my points, but it wouldn't work. I asked for help when I got there. The manager wouldn't help but would peer over the should of the one that was helping me. The one trying to figure out the app suggested I reinstall, so I did and it worked. Very helpful, very nice and super patient. The manager on the other hand, not so much. He doesn't have much of a personality or people skills. Everything is very black and white to him, when customers service has so many grey areas. I stood there for 10 mins with the employee trying to figure out the app, with not one thing to say. If I were him, I would have likely offered these chicken bites for free. Especially since I expressed that I just walked 30 mins to get them. Not to mention, knowing I would eventually be getting them, they should have been cooking them in anticipation, not having me wait another 8 mins afterwards.
The restaurant was bright. Closed off section, for no reason other than laziness. (Less cleaning at the end of the night) dirty tables, and because of the people waiting and closed off section, not enough sitting space. It was...
Read moreI'd never tried Popeye's before, so thought I would bring my little guy there and order a family pack or a couple combos to see what it was like. Well, I still don't know what the FOOD is like, because me and my son left and went to Mary Brown's instead! So, the Popeye's staff was rude (in that money grubbing sort of way) as soon as they saw we had a small coupon, and would not honor their own online coupon for that location. Apparently, if you want the coupon for a single free apple pie or a single extra piece of chicken to go with the expensive order you must make to get it, you have to either print it out at home first, or if you don't have a printer like us, you'd have to go somewhere else first (ie library etc.) and print it, because this Popeye's location's manager won't honor it on your mobile at all like other chains like Mary Brown's or KFC do (or most stores, for that matter). I hadn't tried Mary Brown's yet either and it turned out to be really good - unlike what we would have had from the giant heap under the heat lamp at Popeye's, they made everything fresh for us and the family promo we got was cheaper besides. I'm sure Popeye's food is good and was sad I didn't get to stay and try the biscuits, etc., but the manager was just too stubborn to honor their own tiny coupon even for first time Popeye's customers, and even when they could see that it was accompanying a family order, and that it was indeed their store's coupon on my tablet. My son was disappointed, but that was quickly solved by walking a couple blocks down the street to another store that honored its own promos and made the food fresh for us even though they had been...
