This mom and pop shop is the BEST Pakistani food I have ever had in my life! I’ve lived in 3 provinces and no other Pakistani restaurants even compares. My siblings and I got the butter chicken, naan, chaat papri, mixed platter, grilled short ribs, biryani rice and mango lassi. We didn’t say a word while we ate and there were no crumbs left. I would highly recommend Raja’s Grill for a delicious meal that feels home cooked and has a lovely atmosphere! My only complaint is that they don’t have a location in Vancouver!
Butter Chicken: creamy, slightly sweet and tender charred chicken. I don’t like butter chicken generally but I would absolutely come back to have this over and over!
Garlic Naan: the fluffiest, softest naan with the perfect amount of garlic and butter. I’m not exaggerating when I say this was the best naan I’ve ever had!
Mixed platter: every piece was tender, flavorful and perfectly charred
Grilled Ribs: flash grilled, perfectly cooked and seasoned
Mango Lassi: top notch, not super sweet with a luscious mango flavour
Chaat Papri: the best chaat I’ve had outside my mom’s home! Spicy, sweet, and tangy with a good amount of crunch
Biryani Rice: decent accompaniment to the rest of the food but make note it isn’t biryani, it’s biryani rice.
Customer service was a 10/10! Ahmed bhai was so kind and inviting! Thank you for such a...
Read moreWe recently visited Raja Grill on Edmonton Trail after hearing a lot of buzz. While the atmosphere was beautiful and the service was friendly and attentive, that’s where the positives ended. Let’s get straight to the point the food was shockingly underwhelming, both in quantity and authenticity. Biryani ($22): As someone from Karachi, I can confidently say this wasn’t biryani — not by any standard. What we got for $22 looked and tasted like a poorly spiced pulao, with a portion barely worth $10, let alone over $20. Calling that biryani is an insult to anyone who knows what real biryani is. Papri Chaat ($9): A complete disaster. Bland, soggy, and flavorless — nowhere near what you’d expect even from a street vendor, let alone a restaurant charging this much. Nihari : This was the only saving grace in terms of taste — rich, flavorful, and authentic. BUT, again, the portion was laughable. Three people ordered it and it wasn’t even enough for one proper serving, let alone to share. It feels like this place is more focused on presentation and portioned, and lacking real flavor where it counts. Definitely won’t be returning until major changes are made. If you’re looking for authentic desi food that respects your palate and your wallet, this...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Raja's Grill and I have to say, it was an amazing experience. The standout dish for me was definitely their butter chicken. It was incredibly flavorful and perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of spice. I could not stop raving about it to my friends and family.
But it wasn't just the food that made this experience so great. The people who work at Raja's Grill are simply stunning. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcome and appreciated. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, always making sure that I had everything I needed.
Beyond their friendliness, the people at Raja's Grill were also incredibly knowledgeable about the food and the culture. They were happy to answer my questions and share stories about the dishes, which added to the overall experience.
Overall, I would highly recommend Raja's Grill to anyone looking for delicious Indian food and an amazing dining experience. The butter chicken was truly outstanding and the people who work there are some of the friendliest and most knowledgeable I've ever encountered. I can't wait to come back and try more of...
