Decided to go here because the market was busy and wanted a poutine. While watching behind the counter for our food, I saw the girl packing orders scratch her head and then continue to handle napkins/cutlery/food while putting it onto the tray. When she turned around to serve it with the requested condiments, she accidentally spilled a vinegar and I watched her finger get dunked into the little cup it was in. She simply wiped the spilled vinegar off the tray and refilled the cup of vinegar - did not replace it. At no time did I see her wash/sanitize her hands.
Our meal was packed afterwards by the same girl. While she was doing so, another employee came out to give her an earful about not wiping the vinegar off the counter that she had spilled. The other employee started to clean up the vinegar mess and made her way out to the customer’s side to continue to clean. I got her attention and explained what I had seen from the girl behind the counter, and was informed that she’s on deck to be fired and is apparently ill-suited for the job.
No refund/remake was offered. The poutine wasn’t anything special. And my husband was too disgusted to eat his meal at all. The girl who didn’t wash or clean anything was clearly having a bad day/time but dear goodness, wash your dang hands. You’re still...
Read moreI have been going here faithfully for 12 years (both locations) and getting the Rocky special. Service is always great and so is the food. I have even called and placed orders for all my staff. Today I left feelin upset over the way I was treated and such lack of respect and disregard for 1 order that had food allergies. The order was dropped out the window and no number called. Just said" there you go". no fork in the bags and I asked which order was the special order as non were marked. But they never answered as they just kept on talking and laughing. When I got back to the office and checked both orders, the allergy order was wrong. That person was able to eat 1/2 their lunch. I understand laughing and joking and having a great time at work. Lord knows most work places can use more laughter. But not at their customers expense. They ask for a TIP before they give you service. They could get rid of the tip option, as if I tip for service like today, I would be so upset and would do a review on line. If there was no tip option like McDonalds, I would expect service like McDonalds. That's the service I got today.. not the service and friendliness of a mom and pops Burger Bus. Sorry for this post, but you need to speak...
Read moreI would have to say, I agree with a lot of the reviewers here. The portion and burger sizes are huge. So bring your appetite. There is no loss of value for your money there.
I would argue that the quantity of gravy is too high for the poutine. Ask for light on the gravy, or risk soggy, over-gravied fries. The curd ratio however, is spot on.
As for the burger itself: It's thick. But it's not dense. It's crumbly and has little flavour. That's not to say in the whole package that it's not fantastic though. The bun holds it together nicely if you don't waste too much time. Otherwise the melting fat will start to desintigrate the whole thing if you're not quick about it. The rest of the condiments add enough flavour to almost make up for what the patty itself lacks.
Overall. Awesome value for the money. The food quality is pretty great for out of the back of a bus. And portions are intense. Enjoy...
