This was a beautiful performance - I loved the song selection, the ambiance of the candle-lit church and the musicians were fabulous. Even though I couldn't see very well where I was sitting, it didn't matter: I just closed my eyes and let the music wash over me. I had thought about going to these performances before but had never pulled the trigger; however, once I saw the advertisement for a Nirvana performance, I knew I had to go. And it did not disappoint. 10/10 from me.
(They also do this picture thing where if you pay a little extra, they'll take your picture up on the stage in the middle of the candles. I paid for that. AND got my boyfriend to kiss me in a church (which is something that will probably never happen again) and I have tangible proof! 😀)
Finally, they sell those candles there - they look like real, flickering candles (they even have a flickering flame - they're brilliant). So yeah, Ms. Impulse Buyer HAD to have those as well.
The only fly in the ointment (well, maybe 2 flies): parking IS an issue so get there early (it's in a neighborhood where all the parking is reserved for the occupants of the houses because it's Inglewood). And it was very hot in that church (today just happened to be THE hottest day of the year so far - May 2, 2025 and it was 27 degrees out) so it was hot in that church. But these are minor things, more of an 'FYI'. it's totally worth going to these performances (and hopefully, the next time I see one I'm interested in, I'm able to purchase the 'better' seats on the ground floor. There are really no 'bad' seats, as you can hear everything wherever you sit but if they had been available, I would have purchased ground floor seats, simply for the ease of not having to go up so many stairs.
Great experience, so...
Read moreThe Lantern Community Church is an absolutley exquisite venue and the string quartet who play the Fever: Candlelight Concerts equally ou tof this world. However, should you need to find parking, navigate the ice outside or arrive 5 mins late because of both of those things, you should know that you won't be able to experience either.
I'm a music journalist in London UK and recently flew back to surprise my mom and celebrate her 70th birthday at the Fleetwood Mac : Candlelight Concert Dec 28th. I purchased four tickets for her and her best friends (all over 65) and myself. I dropped them off at the entrance so they wouldn't slip and because it was so cold while I found a spot - which as others hav pointed out is very very tricky.
My mom informed the door staff I was directly behind them and asked if they needed my name or if she should wait and they said I would be fine with the QR code. Once I finally found a spot and returned to the church it was 18:10. I was stode outside with 10-15 other people all reading a sign that we would not be watching the show or allowed in. My mom had my handbag and phone inside so came out to look for me after the first set and was also told I wouldn't be allowed in.
As you can imagine this entirely tainted what was meant to be a super special evening. I was so excited about finally coming to one of the shows that I also booked tickets for Nirvana for 6 of us on Jan 11 only to witness late guests at that gig allowed in after the first and second songs.
When I emailed Fever and asked for a refund or credit for my one individual ticket, for the concert which I missed, they simply replied that my ticket was "non-amendable." Shocking customer service and really...

I was 1 hour early and still could not find anything. The entire area is closed off and any true parking available is taken by residents (I can tell because of the snow left on the vehicles when snow had not fallen since yesterday). The frustration of the parking alone has left a sour taste in my mouth to which I am unsure if I could enjoy anything up and coming. My thoughts so far is that I will never attend anything here again.
Ok, really good performance. Parking is a loss of a star, this is...
