I am absolutely thrilled with my first experience at this coffee shop!
I was introduced to this place by a friend, who is also a coffee lover. We planned to meet there to spend an afternoon catching up. I ended up getting there early and informed the barista that I had never been. They took this opportunity to ask determining needs like questions to gage whether I wanted to purchase before or wait.
They asked me questions about my coffee preferences and how I was feeling today. When describing the beverages, they used language that was easy to grasp and luxurious. This aided in selecting a great beverage that I had never tried at any other coffee shop (it was some type of grey matcha).
Included in the transaction, they asked prior to receiving tender if I wanted a snack, which I did! They were active behind the till inside of stagnant and they were personable, calm, and engaging. I loved every moment of being there since walking in.
They cleared the tables, continued to keep the place VERY clean and even served you like a restaurant by taking your dishes. I felt so well taken care of!
I hope you can read the excitement and warm thanks in this review. I will definitely be back and recommend this space to others as the customer service was out of this world and extremely refreshing!
(Shoutout to the Barista, who's name started with "C" - you are...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSought x Found has quietly become one of the best coffeehouses in the country.
I hadn't been in many months, but I had the pleasure of a visit a few days ago and- wow. First, SxF now is its own roaster and they take it SERIOUSLY, with many rare options and it's all carefully curated, and the staff knows its stuff. I love how your options are espresso and "espresso with milk" in four sizes. Moreover you have a choice from, when I was there, six different espressos- yes, now, Q.Lab does the same thing, but with full respect to Q.Lab, SxF is its own roaster (Q.Lab sources from several different local roasters) and is a lot more luxurious, with rare beans that are distinctive. I got a "small" (this'd be a cortado or piccolo at most other shops), at 4.5 ounces, and chose an anaerobic process, single-origin option for the espresso portion and the flavour notes checked out- it was "boozy" and fascinating, and the milk was PERFECTLY steamed and at a PERFECT temperature. The whole experience was very special.
Now, I'd not get that coffee every time, it's a $3 premium on top of the very-reasonable base charge of $4.50, with which you get the standard house espresso, but for once in a while this is a memorable experience. This is the place to take out-of-town guests who don't know what a world-class coffee scene we are blessed...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreStopped by here for an early morning coffee while trying to experience as much of Calgary as we can during our short stay and my friends and I were very happy with everything. Not sure how busy this place gets during the week. But on Saturday at 745 we were the only 4 people in there. It was different than any coffee place any of us had ever been to, they've got a bunch of different coffees to choose from by the bag and you just tell them what you want a pour over of. OR two for us did a flight of three coffees the same way, and there was a QR code that takes you to the tasting notes for each. The coffees were very tea like in nature but in a good way, that's the way it was supposed to be. So many different flavors. And I've always heard coffee has more flavor notes than wine and this proved it for me. I also got a kimchi sausage Danish. It was all good and the service was phenomenal. They were all super helpful for this very different, very good experience. 2 friends got lattes with different coffees and it was amazing how different they tasted. I highly recommend this place and I am sad my friends want to try more places during our stay because there is so much more here I want to try. But I am also excited to try more places Calgary...
