This small and tidy shop has a cozy vibe, I ordered takeout for my first visit. The meatball banh mi with an extra $1 for pâté.
The sandwich was longer than I expected, and the bread was perfectly toasted, crisp on the outside but not dry. The pickled vegetables were fresh, tangy, and refreshing, balancing the rich flavor of the meatballs. I appreciated how the bread absorbed some of the fillings without becoming soggy. Instead it created a nice harmony between the bread and the stuffing! The portion of meat was generous, so there was meat in every bite. My favorite part was definitely the pâté. Not many banh mi shops in Calgary include pâté, and even fewer get it right. This one tasted just like the ones I enjoyed in Vietnam, rich, flavorful, and authentic!
The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the prices were fair for the quality and portion size. Overall, it was a very satisfying first visit, and I’m already looking forward to coming back to try more from...
Read more🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Absolutely incredible spot in Calgary! If you’re on the hunt for the best Banh Mi in the city, Hello Banh Mi is where it’s at. The bread is next-level crispy—perfectly toasted on the outside but soft inside, and the fillings are packed with savory, authentic Vietnamese flavor. You can taste the care in every bite.
Their Vietnamese coffee is bold, smooth, and just the right amount of sweet — perfect to pair with your sandwich or sip solo. And don’t even get me started on the bingso dessert. It’s refreshing, indulgent, and honestly better than anything we’ve had elsewhere. The bingso is a must-try!
This place is a hidden gem that deserves to be on everyone’s food radar. Friendly staff, clean atmosphere, and fast service. We’re already planning our next visit — and bringing friends.

Read moreI’m a huge fan of banh mi and usually go for the assorted cold cut, it’s my favorite and typically a safe choice. I live in the neighborhood and was excited to see Hello Banh Mi open, so I decided to give it a try. I ordered the cold cut, and my partner got the satay beef.
Unfortunately, we were both a bit disappointed. The mayonnaise had a very strong sweetness that overpowered the whole sandwich. I couldn’t taste the pickled carrots or much of the pate, and there seemed to be an additional sweet sauce that took away from the traditional, balanced flavors a Vietnamese sub usually has. My partner felt the same about his satay beef, it was more sweet than savory.
I really wanted to love this place, and I think it has potential, but dialing back the sweetness and letting the classic ingredients shine would make a...
